☪ who became famous for being the only one to carry out a mass shooting in a school, at least got a decent score before committing suicide.
Background
He was born in 1982 into a Sunni Muslim family in East Jerusalem. He was described as a deeply religious person. His family lived in the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood, an area where many residents have Israeli identity documents that allow them to move freely around the city. Work and access: He worked as a driver for a courier company and, according to some reports, had previously made deliveries to Yeshiva Mercaz HaRav itself. This familiarity with the place allowed him to enter without raising suspicion.
Motives
He left no suicide note or formal manifesto. However, his sister, Iman Abu Dhein, stated that Alaa was "obsessed" with the violence occurring at the time in the Gaza Strip. Just days before the attack, an Israeli military operation in Gaza had resulted in the deaths of more than 120 Palestinians, which apparently triggered his decision. It was also influenced by Columbine, which is why he committed a Columbine-style shooting.
