Eric Matthew Frein He was a former soldier who became famous for causing a mass shooting and a failed bombing attempt.
Background
was born on May 3, 1983, in New Jersey, mentioning that his father was abusive and that Eric acted as his protector. He was a standout shooter on the Pocono Mountain High School rifle team, In 2004, he was charged with grand theft and robbery after being accused of stealing items from vendors at a World War II reenactment in New York. Those who knew him described him in contradictory ways: as a "tender brother" and protector, but also as an individual with difficulty separating reality from fantasy, fueled by an anti-government ideology.

At 10:50 p.m. on September 12, 2014, a shift change was commencing outside the Troop R barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police in the Pocono Mountains in the Township of Blooming Grove, Pennsylvania. At that moment, a sniper opened fire with a .308-caliber rifle. One trooper was killed by the gunfire and a second was injured, but survived. Four shots were fired within 90 seconds, from a distance of 82 yards (75 m) in a position at the edge of the nearby woods, before the shooter fled further into the wooded area. One trooper was shot trying to help the other, prompting him to crawl back to safety, where he was aided by two other troopers.
