Olivier Hadzovic† was a 20-year-old French schizo of Bosnian origin who, on April 25, 2025, caused quite a bit of butthurt in France after he stabbed a Muslim to death in a mosque.
Background
Our protagonist was born in 2004, coming from a family of Christian gypsies, which is already a bad start in life in itself, but what didn't help was the fact that he lived with 6 younger siblings and that, by his own account, he began to hear voices at the age of 7 or 8. As an adult, Olivier was unemployed, received welfare benefits, and spent his time playing video games, truly living the life of an average Redditor. On social media, he would share his desires to kill people and rape women and corpses.

On April 25, 2025, our dear Olivier could not contain his murderous impulses and began to choose his targets. He approached Aboubakar Cissé, a 22-year-old illegal Muslim immigrant from Mali, who was in the mosque where he worked. The two talked for a while, and Olivier asked him to demonstrate how to pray. Aboubakar agreed, and when he knelt down, Olivier stabbed him 57 times. He began filming the dying victim and insulting his religion before sharing his desire to kill two more people to become a serial killer. He then thanked his friends on Discord for their participation (no one helped him) and then fled.
Manhunt and Capture
Olivier fled to Italy, taking refuge with his aunt before surrendering to the authorities on April 28, 2025. He was then extradited to France where he wwas prosecuted for murder and hate crimes. The funniest part of all this is that his aunt's husband is a Muslim.
On June 20, 2025, an initial psychiatric evaluation stated that he acted under the influence of a psychotic disorder, which means he may possibly be acquitted by reason of insanity and get away with it.

Reaction
Despite the fact that Olivier committed all this because he was truly a nutjob, it only took the roles in a knife murder case being reversed once for the entire French left to start crying about how Islamophobia was big in the country, that far-right media pushed people to murder, and that the government was discriminating against Muslims. This isn't meant figuratively, given that leftist leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon actually started crying during the silent march. However, the fact that he was seen laughing some time later, once the cameras were out of sight, lends credence to the sincerity of his tears. Obviously, his tears, real or fake, were never shed for the hundreds of French people killed by Muslims over the years.
In short, this whole media circus is ironic considering that if France had strict immigration laws, neither the victim nor the killer would be in the country and this murder would've never taken place.
