Thomas Pidel is a twice-convicted sex offender and military veteran from New York. He was a longtime poster on BoyChat and many Google groups.

Thomas Pidel AKA "Tom" AKA "hitom" and other user names is a known pedophile and convicted sex offender from Pine Hill, New York. He began posting on BoyChat as early as 1997 and was a very prolific poster to Google groups for just as long. He was also a long-time child pornographer as cited by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the federal law enforcement agency that investigated Pidel in 2004.

While in the military, Pidel was convicted of sexual assault charges involving a minor; he was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force in 1994 and spent three years in prison. In 2004, ICE began investigating Pidel's involvement in a Website with images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Once charged, he was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, undergo a mental health examination and register as a sex offender. In 2005, he was convicted of producing and receiving child pornography and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He also admitted to taking sexually explicit images of a 9-year-old boy between 1999 and 2003 and that he had engaged in oral sex with the boy. He further admitted his attraction to boys and that he took medication to control the urges. In the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials seized computers and disks; hundreds of images of minors engaged in sexual conduct were found, having been downloaded from a variety of sources on the internet. He was sentenced in April, 2005 to 12 years in prison.

Jack McQuade, ICE Resident Agent in Charge in Albany said, “We have put a very evil and dangerous child predator behind bars for more than 12 years.”

What's ironic about his conviction is that he adamantly cautioned fellow boylovers against seeking out child pornography on the internet. Aside from his boylove interests, Pidel was fascinated with castration and penectomy. He regularly posted to Google groups dealing with the subject and also had his own Website devoted to it.

Why he kept coming back I don't know, maybe I was the last stop on the rounds in town, hoping for anyone, maybe he heard the rumors about me and so felt I would pay him attention since I liked boys and no one else wanted him, I don't know, it is anyone's guess, and he can never tell us this.
