Jeremiah was removed from Humanities 101 for expressing the politically incorrect opinion that not all men are rapists, and that The "1 in 5 women" slogan is completely untrue. March 2015 Incident

In March 2015, professor Pancho Savery at Reed College banned second semester Jeremiah True from the discussion portion of his class, claiming in an email to the student that this was necessary because of the things the student had said "made others uncomfortable" and upset survivors of sexual assault.[1] The student claimed he was removed for his dissenting views with regard to the statistic that says one in five women are raped and that rape culture exists.[2] A Reed spokesman claimed that the removal was due to disruptive behavior rather than dissenting views. [3][4] The student also stated he believed rape culture was not a useful concept because according to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, a well known authority on rape, rape only occurs when a sick individual makes a conscious choice to commit a violent crime, and American culture abhors rape.[5] The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a free speech organization, has been involved.[6]

He has been given at least 22 "no-contact" orders by Reed College. He supposedly went around saying the word "nigger" at nobody in particular... so everyone was liek U WOT M8????

True refused an interview with Reason Magazine because the reporter refused to start his article with the word 'nigger',[7] and has created a public Facebook page, calling himself a free speech activist, TrueFreedomFeminism, which sounds like a feminine hygiene product.

His change.org petition has to date (3/30/15) amassed 3000 signatures. It is horribly long, and hilarious as fuck, including copypasted emails, and grandiose ramblings.[8]

In this petition, he mentions that he might become a martyr, which sounds like he means a martyr to free speech by being kicked out of school or something, but others have the twisted interpretation that he's a threat and might become an hero to us all. This is probably not what's going on since he's said he will use only non-violent means.

He has posted many lulzy, manifesto-like ramblings in google docs.

In various places in these, he compares himself to, among others, Jesus, Gandhi, and MLK Jr.... top lel.

He also fully admits to being a troll and says "it's been enormous fun" trolling the shit out of Reed.

His Facebook page says he's a "socratic thinker at planet earth" and that he "studied how to annoy people at Reed College".

Those who are in the minorities with good ideas are denied the support theyd need to make a real difference out there, and those who have truly twisted, insidious ideologies are rarely revealed to the world and dealt with as is most definitely necessary. I am not sure if think Mr. True is one of those. He seems much more like one of the oppressed minority with some good ideas who isn't being heard.


If the 卐Reed卐College卐 community and school board continues to act in this shameful, dishonorable way, then demonstrably harmful ideologies will be allowed to fester indefinitely, untreated, in many individuals in the 卐Reed卐College卐 community. If for no other reason than this, you must promote free speech instead of squashing it with a steely boot of censorship.
