Thirst, thirstiness, and The Thirst are interchange forms of this memetic term spread on the internet and IRL. Beginning its circulation within the nigger communities online the thirst has been omnipresent in most of the internet's history.

What is "The Thirst"

The thirst can be defined as any and all excessive pursuit of anything. More specifically and colloquially, it refers to the expressed desire of a mate though again this isn't the only use of the term merely the most popular. The mere pursuit of the target of one's desire isn't what fosters the thirst. The over commitment to one target however is.

Why is this a thing

American society maybe even Western society as a whole creates a system of disadvantage where men and women both run the risk of being deemed thirsty and therefore undesirable. This contributes to further degeneracy as previous forms of courtship or expressing interest now carry the excess burden of not only being rejected but also carrying the albatross of being overeager.
