Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, generally known as Beyoncé, is a singer, songwriter, actress, and overgrown ape to whom millions of fanboys love to fap. She started out with a group called Destiny's Child which was one of the biggest girl groups to date but later went on to produce a lot of independent work. She performed a number of philanthropic acts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti. She's had a few lulzy controversies, especially regarding her relationship with the Obamas after she wrote an admiring letter to Michelle Obama which many thought read like a love-letter. She was accused of lip-synching the national anthem during the 2013 Presidential Inauguration and members of Congress called for the President to step down over the scandal, although it was quickly forgotten. She also demanded that embarrassing pictures taken during the Superbowl be taken down. The interwebz rebelled producing endless memes using the pictures, often to compare her to a bodybuilder or She-Hulk.

Beyoncé pays a lot of attention to her image. In fact, her tendency to lighten her skin and wear wigs or utilise hair relaxant as well as her habit of emphasizing her Native American and French ancestry has caused many blacks to accuse her of self-hatred while her tendency to show off her body has led a lot of feminists to label her a whore. So she was pretty upset when, during a Superbowl performance, many people got "unflattering" images of her with their camera phone. Her handlers freaked the fuck out instead of just letting it blow over and the Streisand Effect took hold. Naturally, these ugly pics became a meme.
