Bana al-Abed is a 7-year-old Syrian girl who, despite claiming to be Tweeting from a literal warzone, has been bestowed with the gift of decent Wi-Fi by the government of the benevolent and democratically elected Syrian president, Bashar Al-Assad. Despite suffering from a severe case of Down Syndrome, Banana is capable of speaking and writing in perfect English.
