Rorochan_1999 (Born: January 4, 1999?) was a 14 year old livestreamer from Japan (obviously) who wanted to be famous so badly she streamed herself jumping off her balcony. Unfortunately for her, she was completely forgotten until some emo band made a song about her a decade later, causing a bunch of 12 year old white girls to start worshipping her and other Japanese schoolgirls who livestreamed their suicides. Only the Japanese girls, forget everyone else who livestreamed their suicides.
The Story
Rorochan was an anonymous loli who began streaming on Japanese streaming sites FC2 and Nico Nico Douga sometime in 2012. She was known to stream herself playing the piano and chatting with her fans. She was also rumoured to have streamed herself running into traffic and dangling off the edges of tall buildings, though this might've started due to a song made about her and there's no evidence of this (didn't stop everyone who talked about it repeating it though). She was known to use her status as a junior high school girl in the titles of her streams along with sexual language to clickbait pedos. Apparently in one of her streams she said she wanted to "become a legend no matter what", though this stream, if it exists, isn't archived. However, with Roro being a 14 year old girl on the internet, we wouldn't be surprised if this exists.
She was apparently bullied in school, and was so addicted to the internet she apparently found a way to get back online every time her parents took it away from her, including using games consoles just to get her fix. Unlike most people who share these traits, she didn't get the memo of how she should handle these issues and instead decided to an hero instead of doing the right thing.
On the 24th of November 2013, Roro started a livestream where she filmed her legs while gathering the courage to do it. Some in the livestream chat room tried to talk her out of it, while apparently others told her to do it. In any case, she eventually stepped on a box, then onto her balcony. She then pushed herself off while holding her phone. Unfortunately, the phone just fell onto another balcony instead of filming her fall since she refused to just do a flip.
Aftermath
Initially, only the local news channels reported on her death before she was quickly forgotten. That was until a band called Shinsei Kamattechan made a song loosely based off the incident in 2019, years after her death. Despite the fact that the song changed a number of things about her story, edgy weeaboo 12 year old girls instantly began obsessing over her.
Fandom
Quickly 12 year old girls who mommy just doesn't understand began firing up MSPaint and creating tributes to her and started yelling at people online to RESPECT RORO. Funnily enough, they used the character based off her from the music video to represent her instead of Roro herself. So the internet started getting flooded with fanart of this fictional anime girl while claiming to be paying tribute to a real dead girl. Initially, there was only a shitty gif of her suicide stream online, though soon the full video was found and leaked. This, along with underage western girls claiming to have been her friend or watching her streams caused roro-fans to start infighting and crying about muh disrespect. To add fuel to the flames, trolls began using a shitty program called GachaLife to make videos disrespecting her, causing a biblical flood of tears.
On top of this, they also began figuring out about similar incidents where Japanese schoolgirls livestreamed their suicides and began obsessing over them too, completely ignoring Westerners who did the exact same thing.
Oh yeah, there were also rumours of a knockoff blue whale challenge, the Rorochan Challenge, named after her. We were unable to find anything about it except for people whining about it. Why it wasn't called the Rorochallenge or Roro-chan-llenge is unknown.
The Rorochan Fandom (A.K.A. "rorofans" according to us) is quickly becoming a severely underrated source of cringe.
Similar Incidents
Roro-fans have began obsessing over other similar incidents in Japan along with rorochan, including:
- Nakaikiaka - A 16-year-old girl who livestreamed herself jumping in front of a train due to her boyfriend leaving her after making her get an abortion. The 2nd most popular girl in the roro fandom, aside from roro herself. Apparently killed herself on July 1st 2018.
- Minmin - A 17 year old girl who also livestreamed herself jumping in front of a train. Was bullied at school and molested by her father. Was directly inspired by the Shinsei Kamattechan song, with her last tweet praising them. Naturally, the band tried to deflect all blame despite the obvious inspiration, with the lead singer crying about it on a livestream while claiming she totally would've done it anyway I swear. Killed herself on February 18th 2020.
- Mero-chan - Another schoolgirl who jumped in front of a train. Was known to cut herself, drank and smoked, while posting it all on Twitter. Eventually, she moved in with a friend despite still being a teenager. While this would be a dream-come-true for any normal person, this was apparently not enough for her. Killed herself on May 10th 2020.
