Under the ground and above the bullshit, Shotacon (shota) is erotic or pornographic illustrations of underage boys, made for the pleasure of homo pedophiles. It is a sub-genre of hentai, and paired with lolicon (the girl variant). The term "shotacon" comes from "Shotaro complex". And Shotaro itself is originally from the name of a young boy (aged 10) in the 1956 manga Tetsujin 28. So basically it translates to "erotic 10 year old boy complex".
