CHILDHOOD RUINED is a term coined by sensitive crybaby normies and nostalgiafags in response to the discovery of dark and terrible facts about the media they grew up with. This not only applies to TV or Film, but books, fairy tales (even old ones in the public domain), nursery rhymes, etc. This can also be accomplished upon the revelation that certain persons connected with their youth entertainment has done something wicked, heinous and/or stupid, to the point where they can no longer enjoy the media they once loved to consume.
Anons on the other hand grew up with awesome shit like trading cards and a plethora of awesome vidya games, so the only time they do get upset about their nostalgia being raeped is when some mongoloid attempts to 'reboot' a much-loved franchise, making changes that are so far distant from the property's original concept and essence.
