Darknet

From Encyclopedia Dramatica
(Redirected from Dark web)
Jump to navigation Jump to search
Are you are looking for some pathetic moral faggotry? See Operation Darknet.

Darknets or the darkweb are the back alleys of the internet, moving data around 1337 levels of security with bandwidths up to 0.42 kbit/s, in comparison to clearnets; where no extreme security measures are taken, but the bandwidth is significantly faster. Kazaa is a good example of a fast darknet, while at the other end, I2P and Tor are slow as a sunday driver, but they compensate for it with topnotch security. So good that they have become the goto haven for nearly all sufficiently paranoid, whistleblower publishing journals, thieves fencing stolen items, child pornographers, crackers in crime, computer exploits/database leaks, terrorism for dummies.pdf, and lots and lots of drugs, guns, and honeypots.

At its most basic level, a darknet is any network that the authorities are monitoring around the clock and around the world. Short of outright banning all darknet traffic and seizing all nodes of the network at the exact time in every countries, there is no way for any authorities to nail any single user for breaking any law in any country. Since most western democracies has safe harbor laws to protect network providers, a constant source of lulz is when police seize darknet nodes in criminal investigations only to return them without being able to charge anyone.

The #darknet channel is also a famous source of lulz and drama on the EFnet IRC network. It is currently the primary place for skript kiddies to trade 0-day exploits.

OFFS

The project sadly was abandoned, ~2012. But is still used by many despite this.

The pirates created Owner-Free File System specifically to piss the RIAA and MPAA OFF. It is fast compared to the rest, but it rapes bandwidth by consuming three times the size of all requested data.

OFFS is fully decentralized, and it uses much better security measures than other P2P protocols. But isn't as anonymous when compared with other common darknet protocols.

Freenet

Freenet Routing

Freenet is a decentralized, censorship-resistant distributed data store originally designed by Ian Clarke. Freenet aims to provide freedom of speech through a peer-to-peer network with strong protection of anonymity. Freenet works by pooling the contributed bandwidth and storage space of member computers to allow users to anonymously publish or retrieve various kinds of information. From a user's perspective, it can be thought of as simply a large storage device.

tl;dr Anonymous, Encrypted, Distributed.

Freesites

Freesites are webpages on Freenet, great for posting Dox because it can't get removed, and there is little risk of getting v&

  • To Do: create an imageboard or wiki system for freesites

Message Systems

Frost

http://jtcfrost.sourceforge.net/
Frost is a message board system for Freenet. You can create private or public boards, upload/download files, and send encrypted messages.

Boards:

  • /b/
  • anonymous - This is a private board, you will need the keys to access it

How to run: either run the frost.bar or frost.sh (bat for windows, sh for *nix) or just run the jar via java:

   java -jar frost.jar

FMS

Example of 90% of darknet sites

FMS stands for "Freenet Messenger System". It is basically Usenet, encryption, and anonymous routing combined.

  • 1) Download and install FMS from freenet.

  • 2) Get announced (this is done by solving ~30 captchas and waiting 24hours, also if you know someone on FMS you can get them to manually add your identity).
  • 3) Subscribe to the board "anonymous".
  • 4) Post shit.
  • 5) ????
  • 6) PROFIT

PROTIPS

  • store in an encrypted filesystem (see FreeOTFE)
  • Use Special firefox profile that deletes all cache/history when closed and blocks all scripts ie runs noscript addon (same as if you where using tor)

TOR

Moar info: Torpark.

Smarter than the average bear?
Developed by Navy, Tested by Anarchists, Approved by Pedobear -- TOR's Slogan

The United States Navy created [TOR] to generate drama in Tibet for China. Much lulz was created in the brutal crackdown in Tibet. The anarchists at EFF then adapted it to promote free speech. Much lulz was created when music and movie pirates settled down on TOR. Eventually, Pedobear got hold of TOR. Much lulz was caused in Germany as authorities try to seize all TOR nodes to catch Pedobear. Most countries allow the access to Tor, except in looney dictatorship countries like Iran and China.

Tor sets up a SOCKS proxy to the normal internet, allowing you to send any application’s connection anonymously through the Tor network. Any connections made through Tor will be anonymized but not confidential unless you use end-to-end encryption in the application, like SSL/TLS for web browsing, or an SSH tunnel.

I2P

Unlike Tor, I2P is completely end-to-end encrypted and separate from the normal internet; this means that connections through I2P are confidential and anonymous. It is basically impossible for anyone or anything to know what you are doing, as there are no exit nodes. Otherwise their .i2p protocol uses similiar routing to Tor's (.onion), but Tor instead focuses on proxing the normal Internet.

On top of its superior security/privacy to Tor's, it is significantly faster and more reliable, utilizing much more efficient P2P connections, including a distributed directory system, which helps avoid any single points of failure. It also encourages torrenting, ed2k, and Gnutella, something that, if done on Tor, would use up too much bandwidth, and de-anonymize your identity.

While a Tor website is called onionsite, I2P's are known as an eepsite, a web server who's true Internet identity is hidden by the mixnet structure of I2P.

Famous Websites

In this section ED would like to introduce you to some famous darknet sites (most of which use tor). Sounds fun doesn't it?

Silk Road

Moar info: The Silk Road.

The Silk Road is like Ebay, except that it is not run by Jews and it has a better design. It is probably run by some Arab guys who are bored as fuck because they have so much money that they couldn't spend it all even if they burned $1000 every time a politician lies, so they created this page to have some excitement in their pointless lives. It seems like you can't buy tiger dicks or even rhino sperm here (so it's basically useless), resulting from the fact that Asians don't really use this site.

Wikileaks

Moar info: Wikileaks.

Both CP and antipedo, that's a contradiction!

Wikileaks, a Swedish-based news agency, can be found on TOR. If the main site is being censored by your local government try the site on TOR. They reported the URLs in Australia's Internet blacklist. The blacklist contains gambling sites, fascist sites, CP sites, a medical doctor's business site mistaken for CP site, a US-based anti-abortion site with pictures of dead fetuses mistaken for CP site, and even Encyclopedia Dramatica. Drama ensued as every Pedobear in the world tried to reach Wikileaks and download the Australian blacklist effectively DoSing the site.

Hitman Network

Moar info: Hitman Network.

The Hitman Network is the place to go if you need "cleaning" taken care of. Hate that schoolyard bully? Want him out of your life forever? If so, then this is the place for you. It has been widely debated that this site is a scam, and the people behind it won't actually kill your target, despite paying them a large sum of bitcoin.

Hidden Wiki

Moar info: The Hidden Wiki.

The Hidden Wiki is quite similar to Wikipedia, but not really. While Wikipedia is used mostly for educational and intellectual purposes (read by nolifes), the Hidden Wiki exists for far more exciting purposes. For example, there is an article on the hidden wiki which serve as a how-to guide on kidnapping an individual as well as external links. There are links to websites such as a forums where you can hire an actual hitman - whom you can also pay online via PayPal: Thank modern technology for making our lives easier. To access it you need to use TOR, not THOR from Avengers, but a web browsing software created by pedophiles for pedophiles. It changes and hides your IP address, which is quite useful since the FBI is monitoring the hidden wiki, and hunts down everyone who connects it (except their own horny agents).
