Bulbagarden
Due to excessive server stress, editing by standard users is currently closed. We hope to have the site re-opened by Christ's Second Coming.
—Bulbagarden is apparently final arbiter of all thing Pokemon gossip, [2] |
Bulbagarden, or Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden is an online community of pokemon fans. It was founded by hardcore Elf fetishist Chris Kaleiki in 2001. It is named after the Pokemon anime episode in which Ash once again fails to evolve one of his Pokemon. Bulbagarden went down soon after it was started, and Chris Kaleiki moved on to better things. Australian fanboy Liam Pomfret (aka Archaic) later acquired Bulbagarden and relaunched it in 2002, starting a neverending war with Serebii. Bulbagarden currently hosts several wikis, a forum, and an art gallery. By incorporating these features, Bulbagarden hopes to become the premier internet destination for poké-fapping weeabo furfags such as you.
Projects
Bulbapedia
Bulbapedia is the largest and most well-known facet of Bulbagarden. It is said to be the internet's most comprehensive English-language Pokémon encyclopedia, an extremely dubious honor. Bulbapedia uses notoriously resource-consuming MediaWiki software; as a consequence, the site is always slow, and frequently 504s. In addition to its system resource constraints, Bulbapedia continues to only offer information about Pokemon, making it about as useful as a fleshlight stuffed with glass shards for any adult with an ounce of self respect.
Bulbapedia was created Last Thursday. However, due to the amount of games, the amount of Pokemon anime seasons and episodes, and the amount of obsessed Pokemon fans, the wiki expanded within a few short months to contain thousands of articles.
Unlike Wikipedia, Bulbapedia is actually colorful and pretty. Instead of using plain, old, colorless templates, Bulbapedia uses colorful templates with rounded corners, in order to appeal more directly to their target audience. Bulbapedia displays a mastery of wikitext, HTML, and CSS.
Since Bulbapedia is so slow, users are only allowed to edit their user pages once a day. You also can't create or edit user pages until you've logged some unspecified amount of edits for ten days there. (They also try to anonymize the edit and time values through their FAQ, however you can just easily create a new account and test the software. Pussies.) These are supposed to prevent Bulbapedia from becoming slower. Editing your user page more than a few times a day will result in having your user page locked from editing and a warning on your talk page:
Due to the current situation with Bulbagarden's server network, as explained in the Messages from the Editor, userspace editing is strictly limited to one edit per day. As you have made X userspace edits today, your userpage has been protected for X-1 days.
Ironically, locking the page adds another edit to the user page.
Every time there's major hype within the problem community (eg. a new Pokemon game is announced), Bulbapedia suffers from severe server lag due to the weeaboos flooding in. Complete shutdowns occurred during the hype of the HeartGold and SoulSilver and Black and White. Since each game is basically released twice (one Japanese version and one English version), Bulbapedia has to experience downtime twice for each new game.
It should also be noted that Bulbapedia glorifies vandals and trolls with special article (eg. The Great Bulbapedia Turkey Shoot), so if you troll hard enough, you might receive a special honor. BALEETED because it "glorifies vandalism". Hm, I wonder where they got that from? Archived
Please note excessive vandalism by one person at a two year old computer can shut down the site for upwards of a week, so this opportunity is available to even the lowliest EDiot. Uploading goatse under "Hello.jpg" to the archives no longer works as it is a protected create page, however they love tubgirl. They really love tubgirl.
Bulbanews
Bulbanews is Bulbagarden's version of Wikinews. It is still uncertain why anyone would use MediaWiki software for a news blog, but they do it anyway. Bulbagarden's fans whine anyway whenever a news story is posted that isn't relevant to their interests, and practically one person has been posting all news stories three days later than everyone else.
Lately, the official Bulbanews twitter account had been "hacked" by former staff members, resulting in a lulzy war between Bulbanews and Bulbagarden.
Bulbagarden Archives
The Bulbagarden Archives is Bulbagarden's version of the Wikimedia Commons. This is where Bulbagarden hosts most of their files and images. Oh, and even more, you can't upload any crap images to it until your account is 7 days old and you've made 6 edits on files, which they've also tried and failed to even keep secret at all.
BMGf
The Bulbagarden Forums, or BMGf, is where all of the bulbavirgins hang out and chat. It runs on vBulletin stupid ZenForo software now and always has for 9000 years, and it appears to feature Gym leader Erika as its mascot. It contains many forums and subforums, including some on the games, the trading cards, the anime, the wikis, and roleplaying. Shipping is one of the forum's most popular topics.
Mozz's Van, named after Bulbagardens creditor, was a hidden forum section where staff members could share pictures of their tiny penises and engage in homosex. Sadly, HAVA media, Bulbagardens new corporate overlord, forced its closure. Can't have porn on a children's website.
The staff of BMGf have a secret list of completely duty-unrelated requirements for becoming a moderator, and it is as follows:
- You have to be an obsessive fan of My Little Pony
- You have to be at least somewhat of a douche when bending the rules out of your favor.
- If you 'ship, you have to be a PokéShipper or a ContestShipper, and if neither, at least especially anti-AdvanceShipping. If you do become a mod and like AdvanceShipping, you don't get any special name effects.
- Most moderators have to be nostalgic assholes when it comes to the first media generation of Pokémon. This requires that you hate the third generation also.
It is also worth noting that when bringing up that of the PokéShipping hints are all fake, the majority of the basement-dwelling nerds there get really butthurt and try to flame you; there is an π% chance that they will succeed, and this depends on wether or not a sane moderator catches them. The same thing happens when you talk about ROM hacking. Interestingly, people can be seen successfully trolling in the non-Pokémon forums.
Bulbagarden Gallery
This section requires srs restoration; plz 2 be viewing the talkpage! |
The Bulbagarden Gallery is where the forum-goers post their fan-art. It uses vBulletin forum software and PhotoPost file-sharing software.
Bulbagarden RPGwiki
The Bulbagarden RPGwiki is a wiki for a select few. It's supposed to be about documenting the forum's roleplaying threads, but it hasn't seen much action since 2005, when the other wikis were established. Unlike the other sections of the site, it just uses the Bulbapedia logo with different text below it; a pinnacle of laziness.
Bulbagarden Okeki
The Bulbagarden Okeki is where community members post their fan-art for everyone to see. It supports the needs of obsessive Pokemon fan-artists.
Archaic
The creator of Ballbagapedia Archaic, also known as Liam Pomfret is a chubby ausfag autist, who also happens to like diddling young children. This child obsessed faggot has also shitted himself in 2011 blatantly admitting that Bulbagarden is a notorious little hideout for weeaboos to host copyrighted material. Pomfret has mentioned more than a few times that he doesn't see age as a boundary, and will create horrifying fanfics where pokemon character kiddies will bang like there's no tomorrow. Archaic regularly tripfags on the neckbeard breeding grounds of vp, furiously fapping to misty rule 34 and occasionally making an anonymous thread about himself in a pitiful attempt to garner some likability. Pomfret also happens to have an equally large wife, who looks suspiciously like his sister, and probably just serves as a banner showing everyone just how totally normal he is. This will all change when the police decide to raid his house and find a sex den stacked to the brim with pictures of little boys dressed up as Gardevoir.
