It's/Its

One of the most common errors on the internet is a users ability to be a functioning member of society and to differentiate between it's and its. These words are often confused, and its very annoying to many Grammer Nazi's.

It's

It's stems from the French word été, or summer. While it did not take on that meaning, very few morons understand this basic root. It is used to denote possession in the second person.

e.g.

1. It's long tongue slithered across the room.

2. The newfag made it's appearance for the first time.

Its

Used as a contraction of "it is". Not to be confused with "You are".

e.g.

1. Its safe to leave now

2. If we don't act soon, its going to be too late

Examples of Proper Usage

During a Summit Meeting in 2004, George Bush proudly penned the following statement:

Its OK America. We have erradicated all of those Sandniggers in Iraq. They will no longer pose a threat to our National Security.

This is the most often cited piece of writing, due to it's simplicity and overall positive tone. It is often used as a highlight in Bush's long career.
