Shitposting is the act/art of producing an online post (or in the case of wikis, creating an article) that nobody cares about, is of low quality content, and has no relevance whatsoever. They are made with the least amount of effort, or are made to seem like they are (e.g. forced image compression.)

A shitpost is fine too.

Subtypes

  • Frogposting – posting images/animations of Pepe, or similar frogs.
  • Phoneposting – posting with a cellphone on websites usually meant for computers.
  • Schizoposting – purposely speaking and posting like someone with schizophrenia, usually alongside creepypasta material.
  • Cunnyposting – acting like or posting lolicon.
  • Sneedposting – posting images/animations of Sneed's Feed & Seed (a religious cult centered around farming and hate towards city slickers.) Also known as sneeding.
  • Kaijiposting – responding to greentexts with gambling suggestions, alongside an image of Kaiji Itō (an anime gambler.)
  • Fedposting – posts made by an undercover fed. Glowposting is a type of this, but the fed/agent would instead use it to bait users for information.
  • Baneposting – referencing an awkward Batman scene between Bane and a CIA agent from the 2012 movie The Dark Knight Rises
