Phoneposts are internet messages, images or videos, posted from a cellphone. It is seen as lazy and degenerate due to how easily it can be done by the most ignorant of people, let alone by todays Gen Z. Phoneposts are a form of shitpost, no matter what you say, even if they are the complete works of Shakespeare, they are still at its essence just another shitpost. Alas, you can still be classified as a "phoneposter" regardless if you ever posted in the first place; it's more about using the phone itself. Because phones are typically used for scrolling TikTok, and asking stupid questions on Google. In fact, I bet YOU are reading this on a phone.
Phoneposters like to think that they understand the world around them because of the crap they read and watch on the internet from their little tapping machine. All before they even take a step back to remember their own self.
Phoneposter locations
When someone calls you out for phoneposting, it's most likely because you have posted somewhere that's not usually meant for phones, e.g. imageboards, forums, IRC, wikis.
- /b/ – became a porn board because of it.
- Discord
- TikTok – popularizer of vegetarianism, social justice protests, environmentalism, and LGBTQXYZ+ crap
- Pretty much everywhere... THEY ARE IN OUR WALLS
On LiveJournal
Too drunk to type? Why not make a phone post?
Phone posts on LiveJournal was a feature to allow users to add a sound recorded message to their blog entries. In most cases, these posts are worse than their regular attention whore posts, but provide the perfect opportunity for others to transcribe them for the lulz. The user calls a special phone number and enters their PIN, allowing them to leave a recorded message which is then posted to their journal. This feature is popular on LiveJournal but some other blogging services have it as well.
In the case of LiveJournal, the sound clip is exported to ogg vorbis format, mp3 or GSM-encoded WAV.
Today though, phone posts are considered old media with the advent of vlogging on YouTube and Twitch.
