Sanrio

From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Jump to navigationJump to search

Sanrio (株式会社サンリオ) better known as the child slavery company and the woke toys company, is currently most known for their iconic character - Hello Kitty, an autistic, animu trans-species girl. They happen to also own the rights to over 9,000 other mascots that turned out to be a failure such as Little Cottonwood Cottage, The Utensils or Pita.
The company plays a big role in the entertainment industry, even making cafes and stores for their beloved fans. Sanrio makes all kinds of products for their fanbase to enjoy, starting from toys to lovely fashion items. To make sure they are diversive enough, Sanrio produces clothes mainly for obsese, sweaty Americunts, as well as created a genderless version of Hello Kitty.
Having insight into the company's employees' nationalities, we can tell that although most of them are Yellowmen, around 20% are Jews, who are to blame for Sanrio's recent actions solely for the sake of money.

Hello Kitty just like her fans, LOVES to eat!

Characters

Of course there had to be some foot fetish artwork.

Some SICK FUCKS jerk off to that.
  • Hello Kitty - Sanrio's main trademark, she wears a white and blue overalls and an uninteresting bright yellow t-shirt. Nips have been trying to make her the president of USA since 2012.
  • Cinnamoroll - That's not a bunny. (Keep it in mind or else weebs will feel very hurt!) Cinnamoroll has been created as a form of collaboration with Ozempic and the eating disorder Twitter community. Although he LOVES eating, he never seems to get any fatter. At the end of the day, he's the best anorexic!
  • Kuromi - That's an emo bunny. Her fans consist of 16-year-old borderline wannabes and mentally ill women in their mid-60s with stretched septum piercings.
  • My Melody - Another bunny; As if they didn't have enough Lapin-like characters. Simply put - My Melody is the same as Kuromi and attracts a similar group of people.
  • Pompompurin - Perfectly shows Japs degenerated fetishes.
  • Keroppi - A frog in white and red clothes, nothing particularly interesting - besides the fact that he is somehow well-known, and yet no one likes him.

The Origins

The company was first founded on August 10, 1960 under the name, Yamanashi Silk Company. At first they produced mainly silk products like liquid silk lubricants ties and scarves. Shintaro Tsuji noticed it was easier to sell products with cute designs on them. That's when he decided to take a shortcut in making a well-prospering brand and acquire the Japanese licensing rights to Peanuts, to earn some quick money. After some time, Sanrio decided to start making characters of their own and hired many unpaid homosexual designers.

Controversies

  • Copycat case

The creators of Miffy (designed in 1955) saw Cathy (created in 1974) as a copyright infringement of their original character. Cathy was retired in 2011 after the court decided the characters are way too similar to each other. There was an attempt at counter-suing Miffy's creators' company but it failed.

  • 2015 Database leak

Sanrio made sure to digitally retain all information about their fans, especially children. This eventually resulted in 3.3 million peoples' (who had registered on a website SanrioTown and/or websites like hellokitty.com and mymelody.com,) personal data - names, birth dates, email addresses, passwords getting leaked online. At least 180,000 sets of the information leaked belonged to children.

  • 2019 Sanrio EU Fine

In 2019 the company got fined 6,222,000 Euros by the European Commission for restrictions put on selling their official products to other countries within the EEA.

  • 2022 Tax Havens scandal

In 2022, Sanrio got fined 1.3 billion Yen for suspected utilizing of their workers in Honk Kong and Taiwan, in order to avoid paying any taxes. This of course, was seen by some as violation against the anti-tax-haven laws in Japan.

  • Mass removal of YT videos

Sanrio scrubbed all of their old official YouTube videos with Hello Kitty after the former voice actor of her (Megumi Hayashibara) left in 2023. What made their fans butthurt was the timing; The videos' mass-deletion took place only a day after Hello Kitty's 49th anniversary.

  • 2025 Lawsuit against Sanrio

Studio Comet decided to file a lawsuit against Sanrio for using "their" character. The Company claimed that Kuromi wasn't designed by Sanrio's designers, but rather by a Studio Comet worker named Tomoko Miyagawa. On the other hand, Sanrio in their book from 2023 had stated that the original artist behind Kuromi is some no-name called Hiroko Yamaguchi.

  • Boonchuka

The corporation made wholesome characters to support the BLM movement. Hannah and Sambo are African characters from the 1980s. In their universe, there's also Bimbo, Madonna, Jumbo, Farina, Kowanie and Hannah and Sambo's mother. Another similar Sanrio universe is Bibinba.

Games

Hello kitty girls' biggest hobby is attention seeking.

There are countless of games made by Sanrio, the most interesting are:

Sanrioworld

An MMO game that got shut down in 2007. The game took place in Sanrio Fantastic World, you couldn't do much there besides walking around and flirting chatting with minors.

Hello Kitty Seasons

A console game released in 2010. In it, you play the mayor and apparently you're black since you still have to run errands around Kitty's Town.

Hello Kitty online

An MMORPG which was shut down in 2017 after 9 years; It used to be a free-to-play multiplayer game for E-girls. In the game the player is assigned to help Hello Kitty defeat a "mysterious and malevolent power". There's not much other information about the game since no sane person in their right mind would play such slop.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure

A less interactive blatant rip-off of Animal Crossing. The only game that at least tries to include more than the 5 widely known characters. For a toddlers' game it gained way too many peoples' interest.

Hello Kitty: Skyland

A free-to-play VR game with multiplayer option if you wish to fap to animated animals with your friends.

Fanbase

It's he/him! How dare you misgender me!

The fandom community around Sanrio and its' creations is comprised of several groups: pedos, people with Assburgers Syndrome, guys who think they are women and guys who think they are animals.

Theories

  • Hello Kitty is not just a cat

After many people arguing whether Hello Kitty is a cat or a girl, the theory was confirmed by her creator. It's a human girl named Kitty White. Emphasis on the "White". Otherwise, she would be getting detained by ICE.

  • Cancer theory

Some retards came up with the idea that Hello Kitty has been created by a Chinese woman who wanted to help her dying child. They say she tried going to many hospitals and doctors but none of them could save her. The mother finally decided to make a deal with Satan to create Hello Devil in return for healing her daughter from mouth cancer, which was supposed to explain why Hello Kitty has no mouth.

Merch

Official Sanrio merch.

The merchandise of Sanrio has a big variety of characters to choose from. You can look for items with Hello Kitty or... Hello Kitty or maybe even...Hello Kitty? Occasionally you might also happen to find something with Kuromi, My Melody and Cinnamoroll. If you're a fan of any other mascot, the chances of you finding something for yourself are lower than the chances of losing your virginity.
