The Backyardigans

The Backyardigans was some bizarre cartoon that aired on Nick Jr about some ADHD-ridden animal children dicking around in their eponymous backyard who imagine themselves on epic and outlandish adventures. Despite the already ridiculous concept and less-than-stellar animation that admittedly got better as the show progressed, it was extremely popular and was Nick Jr's 2nd cash cow at the time next to guess who. Alas, it was cancelled when it was proven to be far more popular and respected than Dora the Explorer, and that's when the creator moved on from the show to work on some shitty Fairly OddParents rip-off which Nick disowns as of now. The show has become worshiped by autistics, kindergardeners, kids with ADHD, potheads, pedophiles, your mom, zoomers on TikTok, and Jared Fogle.

Characters

• Pablo: Some pansy penguin who flips the fuck out at the slightest inconvenience. Is notable for the fact that he shares the same voice actor as Aang.
• Tyrone: An orange moose who might be the only character in this entire show who has common sense (besides maybe Uniqua). Somehow he always seems to put his hands in his pockets despite the fact that he doesn't wear pants.
• Uniqua: Some pink...creature who appears in every episode. She is Janice Burgess' self-insert, which on paper sounds kind of sweet and dare I say, a good idea, until you realize that Uniqua has no flaws of her own and is usually the one who ends up saving the day if the plot calls for it.
• Tasha: A whiny hippo who you'd be hard pressed finding an episode in which she doesn't complain or whine in. She is Uniqua's best friend aka her yes-man to everything.
• Austin: A purple kangaroo who is by far the most forgettable of the cast which is cemented by the fact that he's absent in 32 of the show's 80 episodes. Nothing else to say, he's just kind of there.
