Are you a sysop? Act like a grand master of awesomeness and protect the lulz from harm by vandals.
What the hell
Protect fucking everything is the philosophy of not letting anybody touch your wiki. It works great for Conservapedia, protecting administrators from having to revert factual information into their articles (The gall! Don't they know what Conservapedia is about?). On Wikipedia it doesn't work very well, as vandal magnet articles are protected by clueless admins leaving them with a shitload of embarrassing errors (factual, grammatical, spelling, and coding- why do you think the place has such a poor reputation?).
But why should I care?
On your beloved ED, the free-spirited and censorship hating sysops wish to grant everyone page move rights. Some might say that this is a fucking terrible idea, others would disagree and wish to empower the unwashed masses to move articles wherever they wish. Regardless of what you may think of this policy, it has resulted in frustrating amounts of page move vandalism.
ED sysops have no choice but to intervene in order to preserve the harmony of the site's portals and intricate category system. YOU GUYS PROTECTING ARTICLES RULE!!!!1111!!!1oneoneone!!!!11!
