Talk:Parasocial Syndrome
Should this page include cases where people are influenced by real people instead of just fictional characters? Cases that come to my mind are Ricardo Lopez and John Hinckley Jr. — PooF9 (Talk | Contribs) 01:15, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
- Since you eventually went through with this, may I also suggest Kevin James Loibl? - Paul in the Mall (talk) 00:08, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
Why is Brian Cohee here?
PFPs alone shouldn't count for this. That's like saying Natalie Rupnow did it for Osaka. - Paul in the Mall (talk) 19:29, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- If James Seevakumaran is allowed here, I think Brian Cohee should too. — PooF9 (Talk | Contribs) 19:56, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
I'm not going to pretend like I know much about him—I don't—but I can't find anything about him wanting to be with Lian from Pokémon after he killed himself?? — PooF9 (Talk | Contribs) 00:17, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
The unknown Japs
I have a feeling that the unknown Japs who an hero'd don't actually exist. I cannot find anything to prove that they happened. If I am correct and Dink uses AI on here to write sometimes, I feel like he might have used AI to find more cases and the AI hallucinated these. — PooF9 (Talk | Contribs) 14:37, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- I removed them. Biggest hint that points towards them never having happened is the fact the second Jap who an hero'd did it in 1999 over the anime Air which came out in 2005. But maybe it was not the anime and was the visual novel that the anime was based of, but even then it came out in 2000. Also removed Carolina Picchio because she didn't commit suicide for "her idol" Gigi D'Agostino. — PooF9 (Talk | Contribs) 22:57, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Article rework?
Should this article be reworked to describe the actual condition of a parasocial syndrome, maybe listing off few notable examples, and the gamified Tarrantula-inspired article be renamed to something else (like "Parasocial killers")? Stoic Sigma 2 (talk) 23:12, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
My trife with these kinds of articles
These articles read on like obsessive mini-encyclopedias and quite frankly, reading "NOPE, no one cared about this nigga so he doesn't even have an article lmaooo." everytime one of these nobodies doesn't have an article on Encyclopedia Dramatica is NOT FUNNY. The same goes for "Tarrantulas", "Brazilian school attacks", "Misogynist terrorism", etc. Personally, I think these types of articles (especially this one) could benefit from being remodeled after articles like "copycat killers", grading fictional characters on how many acolytes they were able to recruit, although this would mean removing endless paragraphs on SNCA and would likely lead to mass butthurt from its original author. honestly I don't give a shit about it but if it makes the article better thsn suree Mercifulfag (talk) 21:36, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- If you have such a problem with the "no article" message, then just have it be like Columbine Copycats where the subsection serves as a link if they have a page. - Paul in the Mall (talk) 22:59, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
