Fallout New Vegas: The Frontier

Fallout New Vegas: The Frontier, or just Fallout: The Frontier, was a massive, complete transformation mod for Fallout: New Vegas that was in the works for 7 years only for it to be totally suck-ass due to proneness of crashing, awkward, unfunny dialogue, fetish-insertion, story-writing and world building on par with My Immortal and a dev team that, let’s say, had a fall-out with each other. Contrasting with the desert climate of Fallout: New Vegas, The Frontier is set in the snowy wasteland of Portland, Oregon, which should have been a tell-tale sign that this game this game was going to be a perverted clusterfuck of lizard sex dungeons squeezed in wherever possible being the stronghold of furfaggotry that it is. When the mod finally released in 2021, much of the anticipation was met with disappointment, but at least Bethesda Softworks can say Fallout 76 isn’t the worst Fallout game anymore.

Meet the Dev Team

Due to the underwhelming release of Fallout: Shadow of Boston, a group of elite gamers decided to band together to create an even better game that they knew the fans deserved, using the objectively best Fallout game, Fallout: New Vegas as their engine. The only down side is that the dev team was comprised of a bunch of incompetent nonces. For starters, each of the devs got to work on a different major aspect of the game, but infighting, egotism, and powertripping was abound, so as ultimatum they all decided they could include at least one of their fetishes into the quest lines that they worked on respectively.

  • TGSpy - The lead developer of the game. Not too much noncery surrounding this guy, but he should have done some background checks on his recruits. He does however suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome and refused to add a questline for the Enclave because the only people who like playing as them are Trumpsters with power-tripping fantasies.
  • Deathwish182 - Lead writer for the NCR quest line, which was considered one of the most embarrassing and poorly written within the mod. Massive crybaby powertripper too who didn’t want to collaborate with anyone so as much of the game as possible could be his, not that his section of the mod wasn’t just Call of Duty with Fallout aesthetics. Responsible for sneaking in a stolen asset from Doom 3, which got the mod temporarily removed from Nexus Mods and also wrote the dialogue for the deathclaw romance scene.
  • NazoTheDark - Main writer for the Northern Legion and Crusaders of Steel quest lines. He's also responsible for the horny lizard people, including a quest line to romance their lizard queen and an option to enslave one of the barely legal just-turned-18 female characters like the scalie incel he is.
  • ZuTheSkunk - See Fallout New Vegas: The Frontier#ZuTheSkunk

Gameplay

If you’ve played Dead Space, Call of Duty and Wolfenstein, then there's really not much to say about this mod as it basically just rehashes elements and plot points from those games into the shit mod that The Frontier is, especially with regards to the NCR questline which is extremely linear and has virtually no decision making.

But there are drivable vehicles though, so that’s pretty cool.

Controversial & Weird Shit

Oy vey! They’re so stinky! You should lean in and take a whiff of my rancid little piggies!
  • A barely legal just-turned-18 bitch that you rescue in the NCR questline has some things to say about her stinky little feet and also has an option to keep her as your slave upon rescuing her if you choose not to remove the explosive collar around her neck.
  • There is a an entire side quest dedicated to exploring a sewer system occupied by horny lizard people who keep human sex slaves, complete with an option to romance the lizard queen as well.
  • A dating rpg-style encounter with a deathclaw that allows you to have sex with it.

Sneedclave

The mod received much negative reception as we all know, but if you’ve made fun of it on their Discord server, the devs would ban you and call you an asshole after going apeshit. Even YouTubers who had negative things to say about it were called out by them in their dev announcements for the purpose of getting their followers to unsubscribe from them. This YandereDev level of handling over their mod's negative reception is what ultimately led to the formation of the Sneedclave, a troll group from /v/ meant to symbolically fill in for The Enclave, a faction which the devs refused write a quest line for because they’re a bunch of le fascist bad guys who would be Trump supporters irl.

The lizard people are not Trump supporters. The only Trump supporters are generic legion characters. Heh! And also The Enclave.

—TGSpy (wait! Trump is in Fallout?!)

Since the dev team doesn’t know how to handle criticism (let alone have a sense of humor that isn’t their thinly veiled fetishes that they had to awkwardly try to explain later on as horny inside jokes), the trolling continued and, consequently, many of the mods devs began to step away from the scene because they wasted 7 years of their life for this and now theyre just being mocked for it.

ZuTheSkunk

What a normal thing to fantasize about.

Degenerates like you belong on a cross.

—generic Legion character

ZuTheSkunk was a dev who worked on the mod for the latter three years of its development, and although he wasn’t responsible for adding any of the cringe-worthy fetishy stuff into the game, the Sneedclave had discovered that outside of the project, he was actually the most deviant of them all. Completely unknown to the rest of the dev team, Zu had been uploading child sexual abuse artwork of My Little Pony characters to his personal DeviantART, FurAffinity, Inkcunny and derpybooru accounts. This caused Zu to go on a deletion rampage but even this didn’t stop it from remaining esoteric Sneedclave knowledge as major gaming news sites picked up on it too. Oy Vey, how embarrassing!

Make no mistake though, all the devs were sick fucks and equally responsible for the game sucking ass, more so than Zu had realistically contributed to the mod, but he was still thrown under the bus for being the worst offender of them all and used as a scapegoat and blamed for why the game sucked so damn bad. After these revelations, Zu was shamefully removed from the team and all of his contributions were removed. 7 years of work set back in 1 day because of this idiot. Additionally, more devs who have wasted seven years of their life on this shit show of a mod left the project for good too.

Not only does it allow NSFW with minors, but also allows images bigger than 1280px, that makes me wonder why is anyone using FurAffinity in the first place

2021 Rework

Beginning in 2021, the dev team that still remained did something they should have done since the beginning of the project: address some of their criticisms faced at them. The team announced they were going to do a whole rework of the game completely from the ground up because there was no saving that previous clusterfuck. But then it was canceled because some of their modders had to play The Frontier IRL once the war in Ukraine broke out.

2023 Rework

In late 2023, TGSpy began another rework of the mod dubbed Fallout: The New Frontier, reiterating that he has changed factions from NCR to the Legion and purged those filthy degenerates from the program. The mod is estimated to release anywhere between 2027-2032.
