Metacritic
Metacritic is what is said to be a Rotten Tomatoes ripoff created in 1999 by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts. Designed as a way broaden the worthless takes of critics to other media beyond movies.
However what it actually is; is an cancerous echochamber for basement-dwellers to express their worthless butthurt over video games because they were fucking idiot. Metacritic is a game to see how many fake accounts you can create to artificially make the score go down as your a pussy pissed of by a meaningless number. Metacritic is often used as a protest for basement-dwellers thinking that their own beliefs matter, despite the fact that some nobody on the internet has no and say in anything. The Metacritic has contributed nothing to the world, expect making it even more insufferable.
Critic Reviews
Metacritic unlike Rotten Tomatoes does use the percentage and instead uses a score from 1-100, just as way to hide that they ripped off the idea of the website. The differences between the numbers is there is no percentage in front of the number, wow so much originality.
The review system is said to be based on "averages". However the website gives favoritism to all the big review websites such as IGN, GameSpot, and Kotaku aka talentless hacks with no knowledge of what there talking about, only favorited by the media for being around the longest rather than there creditability. This means that If everyone gave it a 10/10, but one big reviewer gave it a 7/10 (garbage score). The score is nothing than a worthless number.
Letter scores are converted into numbers, which are far off the actual score. So some of the scores aren't even accurate to what the reviewers say. This makes website not accurate in the slightest as the actual score of each reviewer is not being accumulated for equally. So no the website does not give you the average making the score worthless.
User Reviews
The only part of Metacritic anyone gives a shit about is the user scores, which also not surprisingly it's cancerous place. The score is rated from a 0-10, and for the average score 0.0-10. While you can give a positive review, you will be only able to find 0's as any score.
The "reviews" are not actually reviews, and more so an the rage of angry virgin. What you will find is people complaining about "the game being to hard" as they don't actual put the time and investment into the games mechanics, or people complaining over a game not being what they wanted as their an idiot that can't make could finance decisions or look up info about what there buying. SJWs also use it as way to complain about political beliefs in the game not being like theirs, or for being getting butthurt over something that offends them. None of this stuff has anything to do with actually gameplay, and if your that offended just get a life. Most commonly it's random non sense in Russian that you won't even bother translating no matter if you have expert next to you as it's all bullshit you should never see.
These methods of butthurt on Metacritic are all apart of the bigger game known as "Review Bombing". Hate something enough, well you can spend your worthless time creating a bunch of accounts just to make the score go down. People actually believe their doing justice, and changing the world. What there actually doing is creating a bunch of meaningless bullshit that nobody cares about. Nobody gives a shit about the average score anyways, so basically you wasting your time.
Other sections
Did you know that Metacritic covers other stuff outside of video games? There are sections deticated to Movies, TV Shows, Music, and formally books until they realized that reading is boring as fuck so they stopped covering books (while they're realizing how boring reading is, why don't they just delete Metacritic so nobody has read the god awful shit on this website). The review system is complete different for these sections for no fucking reason. All this proves how meaningless the scores are.
