Golden Road.net is a place where asspies gather on a regular basis to discuss an extremely old game show called The Price Is Right.

The users are deathly afraid of change and have somehow adopted the delusion that the show should remain exactly the same no matter what. The site is run by a pair of emo basement dwellers named Marc Green and John "ClockGameJohn" Sly. They get butthurt very easily, and, as you'll see in the section on Roger Dobkowitz's firing, that tends to hurt innocent users MOAR often than not. There was also a third owner named Robert Searcy, but he got pwned in the ass and hasn't been seen since. GRN today is nothing more than a haven for every autistic moron who can't string together words into a coherent sentence.

  • No. These members fail at that because Bob Barker is God, and Drew Carey is just a fat bozo with no life. On an interesting side note, 20% of your posts have to be in other sections of the site in order for you to play. Honestly, who gives a fucking shit?
  • CSS: Not "cascading stylesheet", but "Chatroom Showcase Showoff". Basically, during the final round of the show (AKA the Showcase), the users go into the site's chatroom and bid on the Showcases on the real show. The winrar gets...absolutely nothing. WTF!?!
  • FPG BALEETED!!!: "Friday Prediction Game". The users take the pricing game lineups for the Monday-Thursday episodes and use them to predict Friday's lineup. Admittedly quite fun.

Because The Price Is Right has been on for 40 years, and because Golden Road.net has been online for about 6, a number of memes, both from the show and from the site, have formed.

From the show

  • The Epic Battle of Drew Carey vs. Bob Barker: The members of the site love to get in retarded flame wars over which host is better, with Bob Barker winning the battle by over 9,000 points. They think that Bob Barker is the ONLY one who can do TPIR, and that noone else can. Defenders of Drew Carey say that the show now has a fresh feel to it, and that the show is enjoyable for the first time in many years. This constant bitching is a source of epic lulz.
  • Barker's Beauties: Many Price fantards think that three sluts named Janice Pennington, Dian Parkinson, and Holly Hallstrom are the only three models that should be on TPIR, and that no one else can do the job. Never mind the fact that Bob raped them, then fired them when they called him on it. Never mind the fact that they are bloody old and wrinkly and are as ugly as Madonna. Never mind the fact that the new models are younger and are put in a rotation to keep things fresh. They gots Asperger Syndrome, remembar!?! They want things to stay the same FOREVAR!!!
  • Yolanda Bowlsley: In 1977, some contestant wearing a tube top flashed her boobs to the crowd, resulting in epic lulz. Bob Barker was initially confused about the whole situation, wondering why the audience was so overly excited to see him enter. Johnny Olson, the announcer at the time, said, "Bob, they have given their all for you!" Later on, Bob remarked that "she came on down, and they came on out!" Yolanda to this day claims it was a wardrobe malfuncion. LIES. Not to be outdone, in the early days of Drew Carey's run on the show, a couple other black women bared their asses on the show. LOL.
  • Samoans: In the early days of the show, fat Samoan women with little to no impulse control would glomp Bob Barker and lift him really high in the air. He fears Samoans to this day!

  • $9,000 Surfboards: On TPIR's 25th Anniversary Special, a clip was shown of a really old lady bid $9,000 on a pair of surfboards. The incident happened years before. Not to be outdone, in the spring of 2008, a really stupid contestant bid such shit as $2,000,000 on a prize. YouTube vids PLZ or it didn't happen.

From within the site

  • Exacta/Wipeout: An Exacta is what happens when a contestant plays a game perfectly. But since most Price Is Right contestants are clueless morons, this rarely happens, and those few that do score an Exacta usually are left completely confused, wondering how they got it. A Wipeout is what happens when a contestant loses the game very badly.
  • Semi-Memorials: A Showcase where both contestants are male is dubbed a "Robair Mackey Semi-Memorial Stag Showcase" by Joe Capitano. A Showcase Showdown where all three contestants are male is dubbed a "Betty White "Just Men!" Semi-Memorial SCSD". Unofficially, there is also a "HeelsRule1988 Semi-Memorial" for all-female Showcases.
  • Can't Stop The Dob!: Roger Dobkowitz likes to rig the show so that contestants lose. "Can't Stop The Dob" is secret code-speak. If the contestant wins the rigged game, then they successfully "Stopped The Dob". No longer relevant now that Roger is fired; however, now that Kathy "Fingers" Greco is in his place, the site is considering renaming this meme to "Can't Fool the Fingers!".
  • Heels/Fields/Garf/Willy/WSD/etc.: Terms for going over or under the actual price of a Showcase by certain increments. There are no hard and fast guidelines for these memes except for the WSD, which occurs when a contestant overbids on their Showcase by $250 or less. It's the inverse of "DSW", Double Showcase Win, which is what happens if the contestant wins by bidding within $250 of the right price. Like anyone really cares.
  • GRECO, DAMN IT!!!: What people called out when they were playing GRECO!. Yawn, plz.
  • Searcy, you beeyotches!: A term used to signify the coming of Robert Searcy. No longer relevant now that Searcy has been functionally b&.
  • Bork: The site's chatroom server is very unstable. Sometimes, users get kicked for no apparent reason. This is called Borking. Not to be confused with the Borg.
  • Friggin' Random...: Refers to prizes given on the show that seem to come from out of nowhere. Like boats, trailers, and Chevy Corvettes in some Showcases. Almost as pointless as DevianTart's "Collective Rectum" catchprase.
  • _____ of the Century: The blank is filled in with one of the overbid/underbid terms (Heels, Willy, Garf) or Bork. This signifies that a user or contestant performed EXTREMELY poorly on something. It's essentially the Golden Road.net equivalent of "epic fail". A Bork of the Century happens when everyone gets kicked from the chatroom at the same time for no apparent reason.

Pre Golden-Road.net, over on Bravenet(before Hitler Green took over) and The "MSN Years"

  • Jeff "Dickhead" Parsons...claims to be a Radio DJ somewhere in New England, but you can blame him for getting the Asspie/FanboI TPIR fan movement going! He started a really shitty forum on bravenet back in the day, and shut it down, because he claimed people were trolling. Steve Gavazzi himself posted several troll posts, and blamed Hdayejr for it. Hdayejr got a ban because of this. They ended up dumping the shitty Bravenet forum for a new one on MSN Groups. They did take Zach Horan with them.
  • Zach "Mommy Fucker" Horan. A real poster boy of the "Assburger" disease. Banned both from GRN and Invision, simply because he is a bit retarded, like the rest of his fellow boardies. Used to do the same job as Capitano, until 2003 on the new GRN. He gave Marc and John a piece of his mind about the change of the guard, and got banned. He wrote many things about TPIR in "Third Person", or possibly, his mother, Bonnie, wrote it for him. Or, quite possibly, she wrote all that stuff, while he was masturbating to his own posts. Sayings like ZHIFOS, ZHMTHOP, ZHIAGDMF, and even the newest one, ZHIBFI (Zach Horan is Banned from Invision), were coined during these versions of GRN. NU NU NU game show terms were coined by him also. AWOR(another week of reruns), Spoiler space(with 9000 carriage returns after those words) were used frequently by him. Check the old alt.tv.game-shows for information about Retard Horan.
  • Darryl Heine. His best known posts on golden-road.net had him freaking out over the show still using an older style of Pop-Tarts box after the company changed its logo, claiming that he would mute the TV and turn away every time said box showed up. An autistic user known throughout the Internet for various reasons. Got banned from a retail group on Yahoo! for asking nothing but "Does anyone remember [name of obscure retail chain]" or "What is [name of store] like?" over and over; got run off Invision in its earliest days for bitching about GSN. He also does shitty Arthur fanart on DeviantART and hangs out on a forum related to Chuck E. Cheese, despite being over 40, which certainly puts him in the pantheon for autistic man-children of the Internet.

  • Marc Green: Created the site in 1998. The majority of the site is essentially the product of him sucking Roger Dobkowitz's cock. Was originally thought to be one of the few sane fans on the site, but his true intentions have now been revealed. He's just another ordinary fanb01. Went stark raving mad in 2008 or so and went on a banning frenzy against some of the founding members of his site, then one day just walked away from the site. ClockGameJohn took over, and the site was blessedly back to normal--until Marc came back and started rampaging again. Egotistical bully.
  • ClockGameJohn: Sometimes called "LoserGameSally" in a joke that only two or three people get. He's a very arrogant administrator who thinks he's all that and a bag of chips because he played Clock Game on the actual show back in 2003. He's really a dumb fuck. Like all moderators, he sucks. Has definitely earned the nickname "Hitler John" for his excessive range blocks of IP addresses.
  • Seth/Hexadecimal/Lauren: One of the site's admins, came out as a transsexual spring 2014, and insists he now be called "Lauren."


  • Axl, isucgv, and urbanpreppie0004: Some of the only sane members remaining on the website. They aren't as hardcore as most of the other members, and mrbrown owns Nick on an almost daily basis regarding his views on the show, but Nick's too stubborn to admit it.
  • BenclankTPiR: user from Australia whose posts make little sense and employ no grammar. Says English is his first language but his posts make that claim highly questionable.
  • BD: ridiculously annoying Mike Richards apologist who acts like a 10-year-old, making fun of anyone who disagrees with him, CONSTANTLY says "lol" and other annoying juvenile memes, and who doesn't seem to understand that he's part of a Price is Right message board--some people are GOING to discuss the show like it's Serious Business. Also seems to love keeping arguments going LONG past the point when others are ready to move on. (Did I mention he's annoyingly juvenile?)
  • bigwheel1991: another weird user. Claims that the post-Barker Price is "classy," an opinion basically the whole rest of the site mocked him for (and rightly so).
  • BRB_TheFireball: black person Real name is Bo Bielefeldt, or as many long time well respected online game show fans call him, "Beau Bellefoot." He's like HeelsRule1988, only he only likes the black women. In Host Your Own, he always uses the black models to model prizes, and the announcer is always Burton Richardson. Nice to see the NAACP is well-represented. </Sarcasm> From 1998 to 2000, he posted to alt.tv.game-shows, using so many aliases, including his own classmate, Scott Theis, to cheat at Netgames. His cover was blown in 2000, and still has not owned up to his asshole-ish antics to this day.
  • Canadian-TPIRfan: annoying user who most recently tried to stir a religious debate for no reason. talks himself up on other websites pretending to be another user. also is very callus to other members whose relatives have passed away. overall one of the many tools in the workshop that is Golden-Road.net
  • cartboy: proposed stupid rule changes to games until he was banned.
  • CBSpromoman: Not a real promo man for See B.S.. One of the few sane voices on the site. He helped guide his fellow fanb01z through the rocky times of the search for Bob Barker's replacement.
  • Ccook: Writes obituaries in "Out in Left Field" that, usually, noone really cares about. Jerry Falwell and Tim Russert being the obvious few exceptions.
  • chad1m: a guy with a vast superiority complex simply because he's been on a few gameshows and has an About.com blog on the subject. Flames others routinely.
  • Columbear2012: Complete dumbass who appeared on the site one day and uses "IM lingo" constantly, makes jokes no one laughs at, and says really random crap that most of the time isn't relevant. Exhibited all the traits of being a troll before he was banned.
  • CROCODILE: Former TPiR contestant who puts forth some really strange notions. Crowning achievement was to suggest that an audience would get more excited over a year's supply of shoes than A NEW CAR. Defended that ridiculous idea even when every other member of the site was telling him how ridiculous it was. Volunteered to stop posting because he said he doesn't contribute anything useful.
  • cu2010: Egotistical dumbass who does nothing but complain about Drew Carey, Mike Richards, Rich DiPirro, and everyone else associated with the show. Typical Barker worshipper. Cites so-called experience for everything, and thinks everyone else is always wrong. Runs a Wheel of Fortune site with the same attitude, banning anyone who disagrees with him.
  • Cyclone: Canadian user who has an exaggerated sense of how funny he is. Tries to make jokes that most of the time nobody gets, and everybody ignores. Also spent two and a half pages arguing with the rest of the user base over whether Door #1 was orange or yellow (it's ORANGE, dammit!). Once commented that he thinks being Canadian is an excuse to scalp sports tickets. Of late has been on the wrong side of just about every discussion he takes part in, and showing he still hasn't learned anything from his early days on the site, STILL tries to defend positions that are just flat wrong even AFTER others have proven him wrong. And STILL doesn't know when to just SHUT THE HELL UP! Seems to love using juvenile and annoying memes such as "NEway" and "mebbe."
  • dad90: User who posts incredibly convoluted "reimaginings" of old gameshow formats.
  • Dakotakid2007: complete moron who once posted "Barker is HISTORY" on the site, and was then utterly clueless about why the rest of the site's user base flamed him. Apparently doesn't realize that most of the G-R userbase is loyal to Barker. (He is so NOT history!)
  • DarkShockBro: 16-year-old who doesn't really contribute anything to the site, most of his posts seem to be in OILF, and the ones that do appear in the main section seem to be...out there.
  • DeadmanWalking: really weird dumbass whose first post on the site was titled "The wheel is spinning, spinning, spinning, as we play WoF!" It didn't take long before he basically got laughed off the site.
  • Disneyfreak: unlike most other users, doesn't seem to get that some things just don't need to be posted. Most posts are Randomly Capitalized, and very few are actually relevant.
  • DJSquare: A French Canadian who maintains a site called TPIRModels.com. He's like HeelsRule1988 and Whinbaby put together. The vast majority of his pictures are of Price's models in swimsuits. Like we care.
  • DJTorgo: user who seems to delight in saying absurd things. Other users have remarked several times that his posts seem to bring down the collective IQ of recap threads when he posts. Banned for 30 days for making inappropriate (racist?) remarks. When he came back, started spamming threads with bad (bad!) poetry. Lulz Started whining when he discovered he was featured here. OH NOES!!! Baby... The best way to not get mocked for being weird is, don't be weird! Finally banned April 2014 for making a moderator feel butthurt, with a mere joke. (For good this time?...no such luck, came back on July 6th. Judging by his first post, he probably won't be around long this time either.)
  • DMWTD: user whose name apparently means "dimwitted." Posted a YouTube video about how angry he was over the show playing the losing horns for a motorcycle in Range Game, whining like a toddler that it was "only a Harley!". Was rightly mocked by the rest of the site for his "inexcusable garbage."
  • DuffNationUSA: spammer who visits the site regularly and has a different identity each time...but always ALWAYS has the same MO. Spammed the site so many times the technical staff has expressed fatigue at having to ban him time and time again.
  • FieldsFan336: A rabid Rich Fields fangirl. She actually wanted him to host The Price Is Right when Bob Barker retired. LO-fuckin'-L.(even had the nerve to post the email of Rich Fields' wife(an unlisted one no less) on her fangirl page!)
  • FPGWillyT: Obviously, he was the host of the Friday Prediction Game. He's become a total douche bag since Roger Dobkowitz was fired, trying to defend his ass burgers. Nice try.
  • Frank15: Was a total dipshit until Drew Carey took over. Prior to then, he was a total censor in Joe Capitano's summaries and spoilers. He would edit the posts of anyone who criticized the contestants, and would mercilessly flame any Bob Barker haters. But after Drew Carey began hosting the show, he began to have a change of heart.
  • gameshowfan1987: User who proclaims they constantly get tired of "dealing with knuckleheads". Got butthurt when the site changed the color from red to green. Actively proclaims he is a homosexual. Openly admits he is fecitious. Formerly known as junkaholic95.
  • GoldenBulldog: A total jackass who's been known to attack people in the chatroom and make really evil pricing games in Host Your Own. His crowning glory was "PYLinko", a special version of Plinko that replaced the $0 spaces with spaces that would cause the player to lose all their money. Lulz.
  • goldroadfanatic: A user who always posts random dates of occurrances that no one else even knows or cares about. He's essentially a much worse version of Gavazzi and Nick in that regard, and uses archaic insults like, "That showcase wasn't only garbage, it complemented it!" but it fortunately not an arrogant jerk like either of them are. Currently hosts the "Live" version of The Price is Right, in the site's chatroom. Because nothing says LIVE better than words in a chatroom.
  • Guint: Claims Assburgers, and cares too much about the history of the lineups of the show, once making a gigantic list of game "conflicts", with time that could have been better spent building an ark. A mini goldenroadfanatic, will only get worse with age, and is slowly getting above his level of fanb0i. Also runs a site that lists all of the Wheel of Fortune puzzles. Everyone cares. Infrequently posts now because he actually finds the site not to be of his liking, for the most part, not that it stops his hyperfan drivel when he actually does post.
  • HappySB: Obsessed over what the models wore. Banned because he wouldn't talk about anything else after being repeatedly warned by the moderators.
  • heelsrule1988: A pervert. In Joe Capitano's summaries, all he does is comment about the girls with big boobs. He needs some Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, stat! </Sarcasm>(I bet his monitor and TV are a bit sticky, eh?)
  • HiLo: yet another dumbass whose posts don't have grammar and which employ random capitalization. Some users suspect this is offerta all over again.
  • ILoveBonusGame, junkaholic95, and others: The most radical of the radical fanb01z on the site. They are borderline autistic and/or right-wing conservative. When ClockGameJohn or Marc Green announce a change to the site, they are usually the first to announce that they are no longer watching Price...only to watch the show three seconds later. Holy shit; they're just like many DevianTart users!
  • JayRockUSA: Annoying member who introduces each message with "==JAY SEZ==" headers and replies to everything in a mash-up street language, mixing words, numbers and nicknames so his posts are almost entirely unintelligible.
  • Joe Capitano: A Nazi who writes summaries of each new Price episode. His summaries are confusing as hell. Beginning January 2008, he got paranoid and wrote a stupid-ass little disclaimer saying that "This is the only Golden Road.net show recap. Reproduction without author permission prohibited." Like anyone would really steal his horseshit. Left the site unannounced, for unknown reasons, possibly learning the error of his ways.
  • JoePlinko: Total asshole who loves to pick fights with, talk down to, and otherwise flame anyone who disagrees with him. Recently attained fame when he commented that feeding his one-year-old nephew was easier than "force feeding" another user who didn't share his viewpoint.
  • kassilynn: user who claims to be 26 years old, but whose posting style and constant references to his uncle (they're close, you understand) make others think he's about half that. Abandoned the site after getting mocked for posting “art” almost as random as TPiRMan’s.
  • leafsfan17: another typical "Canadian" user, has no filter between his head and his mouth, and just spouts of whatever comes into his head whether it's relevant or necessary or not. Posted a "Farewell, fellow board members" thread in October and hasn't been heard from since...thankfully.
  • little star: former TPiR contestant whose favorite pastime seems to be insulting other contestants and claiming they have mental disorders. Banned January 2013 for racist remarks.
  • Madonna: Uh, no. Despite her attempts to make you believe otherwise, this is NOT the incredibly slutty singer of such shit as Like a Virgin, Material Girl, and Open Your Heart. This is just a fangirl of Madonna. Her critiques of Price are filled with lots of emotion. Like that's gonna save her from total epic failure.
  • moneygamelover: moron who once abandoned the site because a moderator edited his precious signature, and there was peace. Then he came back, and every post was either bitching about a game, or a prize, or a staffer, something, and that's when he wasn't hurling personal insults at the contestants for being idiots. (Yet another one who apparently doesn't understand irony.) Told more than once to quit calling contestants idiots but keeps doing it, probably about to get banned.
  • mostpopular87: User whose favorite pastime is creating polls that ask, "What's your favorite?", and then allowing users to choose ALL of the available options.
  • mrbrown2195: total a$$hole who thinks just because he's a lawyer he has a right to look down his nose at everyone else. Despite this, presents his viewpoints in a logical, reasonable manner, unlike 99% of the site.
  • Mr. X: weirdo who always posts things like "I would like you to tell me what college you go to and why" or "Does anyone have any Maury reactions to post? They would be thoroughly amusing to watch." Most recently "I've heard BigJon has some interesting wedges in his Wheel of Fortune game. Can someone tell me what they are?" Sounds pretty full of himself most of the time, and pretty stupid ALL THE TIME.
  • MrZone: user who flamed the rest of the site about "not having learned from past mistakes" after posting as "MrJL."
  • MSTieScott: Works on The Price Is Right as a page. Abandoned the site in November 2007, in posting only, changing his avatar with some frequency, until he came back years later to talk about his experiences.
  • Nick: The only user who can possibly claim to be a bigger fan of the show than Gavazzi. Since the beginning of Season 37, he has constantly written really long recap posts about how terrible the show currently is, and nitpicks on every single aspect of Drew's performances. He constantly talks about how Roger should be brought back, and thinks that everything about the show should be the way he wants it to be. Not surprisingly, 18 users have ignored him.
  • offerta: a user from Italy whose posts are little more than gibberish. Claims he doesn't speak English and that since his first language is Italian, it excuses the way he posts. Some of his final posts were Italian song lyrics translated into English, confusing the crap out of other users. Others were phrases in Italian. Ticked people off when they had to use Babelfish to understand posts on an English-language forum.
  • OrchestraRicki: Dumbass whose posts are all written with an "Eh, what's up doc?" Bugs Bunny impression at the start, including once in a letter submitted to the show's staff, regarding suggested changes, getting rightly mocked by the rest of the site, being told "[T]here's no way they'll take you seriously".
  • patnvanna83: troll from another board who spammed GRN with a poll about Dolly Parton hosting Feud and a thread about Greek versions of US shows. LOL WUT Banned after getting mouthy.
  • pentellit: Whiny user who does nothing but gripe and complain about Bob Barker and smears his name at all costs, whether or not the facts support her claims. Accuses anyone who disagrees with her of blindly defending Barker. G-R users strongly suspect the account belongs to several ex-TPiR models. The name stands for "I have a pen, and I'm going to tell it."
  • PhatBoi504: Was the winrar of the "Chatroom Showcase Showoff" 2 years ago and won't shut up about it. Even put it in bold font on his profile. Lulz Constantly brown-nosing BigJon. Only goes online to play CSS or post (in the style of offerta) about how good he did in a specific days CSS. Everyone cares
  • Priceboi1983: homosexual fanboi who has photos of the current models. Framed. On his wall. In different colors. CREEPY!
  • Prizes22/Prizes: Moderator who came out as a transsexual spring 2014. Upon finding her entry on ED, she was disappointed to see such a bland entry, but likes being part of this article. Potentially a sane member, given viewpoint perspective, but like any moderator, power hungry, and locking threads often enough to make the verdict of all signs point to no. Despite this, viewed as a nice personal by the community, at large, defying all odds of humanity.
  • raidergoon: user who made a number of inappropriate posts and threads on the site. The last was a thread demanding to know why Manuela had her implants removed. His last few posts were demands to know why everyone else on the site thought he was weird and unhealthily obsessed.
  • RCPlanes59: 'tween-aged user. During a debate about Drew's contract expiring, famously declared "Any of you who mentioned Bob Barker, your argument is irrelevant." Had a long running joke about burning the set of Flip-Flop because he disliked the game so much. Quite possibly the only person who found it humorous was RCPlanes59 himself, others routinely groaning when he mentioned it.
  • RoadgeekAdam: The current recap guide. Decided to prove the term "don't fix something that's not broken" was wrong and failed. His recaps are so large he needs to put them in a gigantic flickr image just to get them to post. He thought that someone who wanted a recap of the 6 games would want to "play along" as if they were a contestant. He is responsible for other recap sites such as QWIZX gaining more viewership thanks to his late and poor recap style. He is also obsessed with traffic signs and railroads and anything of that nature. LO-fuckin'-L.
  • rob79: A user who does absolutely nothing but complain about the lineups in the recap threads. Um...ya do know that the Joe Plinkos who watch the show don't give a **** about what games are played? They concentrate on the bigger things, like Drew's hosting. Maybe you should, too.
  • Robair Mackey: Originally hosted CSS, but abandoned Golden Road.net due to..."personal reasons".
  • Robert Searcy: Was the tech support guy until he was fired. Acted like a redneck. Always bragged about his home in Talking Rock, Georgia, and worshipped NASCAR driver Reed Sorenson like a fanb01. He was incredibly emo in chat and was fired after cracking under pressure. Although he has not been confirmed to be banned from the site, he has not been seen on Golden Road.net since, but currently is the technical guy behind the far saner Game Show Forum.
  • Rusty: guy who acts like a total redneck dumbass on the site. Seems to love picking fights with others and just generally trying to be an a$$ in every way possible...and then some. Complains about the "idiotic, immature, inappropriate, and downright psychotic things" people post on the board. (And apparently doesn't understand irony.) Banned for two weeks for that one, but hasn't been seen or heard from (or missed) since.
  • ryanorrick: user who was constantly posting eBay auctions for ECM-51 microphones. Was banned when it was discovered that he was advertising his own auctions as if they were other people's.
  • Scorpz: Did summaries before Joe Capitano took over, and also keeps a lot of obscure statistics like pricing game frequency on his personal website.
  • shieldsy101: a random dude from Australia who claims it's "too much pressure being in more than one message board." Liked to pick fights with other users and finally said he'd stop posting; then came back. Likes to post on the boards to tell how much more awesome the Australian version of the show is than its US counterpart, even at one point saying their host was better than Bob Barker (the horror!). Earned a bad reputation, then when he came back tried to sweep it all under the rug, not understanding that when you have such a bad reputation it doesn't just magically get better. Was finally banned for good after threatening other users and trying to start fights on the site. Was banned on ED after doing the same. Why must you try to pick fights with others who don't even live on the same continent as you?
  • ShowcaseShowdown: user whose arrogance defies description, seems to delight in looking down his nose at others, no matter what the situation. Banned November 2012 for trying to start a fight with GSF.
  • silverice878: user who posted more useless threads in the Out in Left Field section than he did in the main forums, most dealing with freak weather, racing, or random Whose Line is it Anyway games. May or may not have been banned after posting a topic that led many users to reply, "Ban silverice for posting another useless thread."
  • starcade: user whose lunatic ramblings and conspiracy theories eventually led to his banishment.
  • Steve Gavazzi: Maintains an FAQ full of information that only the world's biggest ass burger would know. Like the exact dates each Price Is Right game debuted, the tenures of all the models, and even a timeline of all 40 seasons. No one else cares. He has always been fairly rude to anyone on the website who supports even the tiniest bit of change, but he's became an even bigger dipshit of an asshole thanks to Roger Dobkowitz's firing. Blames Fremantle Media so much, he probably thinks they did WTC! He is extremely paranoid, especially on Wikipedia articles. All edits are reverted by him, on sight, and he claims they are from Hdayejr or John Chartier. BRAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
  • TheTechSGT: user who constantly talks to everyone else like they are a moron. Lulz. Was banned twice before and is now banned for good for his continuing insults on other members (while calling out other members doing the same thing). Notable for being an ED member himself and making some of the posts on this page, as well as deleting a post about himself. Baby. As revenge, he continues to post and edit members.
  • TPiR1996: 13-year-old who did nothing but post increasingly-random ideas for how to change pricing games. Was eventually banned but rejoined as tpirfan33, then demanded photos of signless pricing games, and got banned again.
  • TinoStar11: Simpleton who writes like someone from the Ghetto. A terrific example: "I'm trying to put my finger on it , where I seen Bernard from. I swear I'm seen him on some other show."
  • titantoa4: Complete and utter jackass who once said a Pocket Change player deserved to lose for being poor. Later claimed that it would be a good idea for prospective contestants to declare their income to make sure they could afford taxes on everything they *might* win. Banned more or less on the spot for that last one.
  • TPiRClass: Totally obsessed with the show's use (or not) of classic music cues, also what the models wore.
  • tpirfan1991: clone of BD from Australia, apologist for Mike Richards and all-around nuisance. Favorite pastime is proposing increasingly wacky changes to the show, things he says he knows are going to piss off the rest of the site yet he does it anyway.
  • TPiRMan/tpirman1982: an autistic user who was banned after he claimed a tape trading partner had died, then showed more concern for the tape than the trader. Has an unhealthy obsession with Minerva Mink and other cartoon characters, and makes perverted sexualized versions of them for inclusion in PiR-related "art." Continuously posted "desperate for a microphone" threads on the site and even managed to get himself scammed out of money as a result. Whined about the fact that he could never win eBay auctions and tried to get people to stop posting links to them so he would win. In a TVPMM discussion, posted his idea for how to steal protected content. Basically, doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.
  • Wayoshi: refers to pricing games in recaps with annoying nicknames, such as "PaP" for Pick A Pair, "Roo" for Switcheroo, "OA" for One Away, etc. Generally hates everything. Banned (for good?) for making sexist remarks.
  • Whinbaby: LOL!!! His name is "Whinbaby"!?! He is just as perverted as Heels. He actually keeps records of how much money in cash and prizes each model has modeled. Too much time on his hands.

Autistic Troublemakers

Special honorable mentions for troublemakers with autism. Or even those that just act like it:

  • 03F5man, bigdodgeram, Dallas Sidekicks: complete and utter morons whose posts never have any kind of grammar or punctuation or capitalization and are really just random ramblings anyway so theyre not worth reading to start with. How they're not banned as total nuisances is a complete mystery...
  • 444dd: user whose posts read like they were written by a first-grader with a minimal grasp (make that NO grasp) of spelling and grammar. Once asked "Please Sign My Petition" to get TPiR back on GSN, based on the absurd claim that a YouTube petition of all things got other classics back. Was basically laughed at by everyone who saw the thread.
  • AthleticsFan: complete dumbass who posts random things like they're actual truth. Most people just ignore him.
  • barker5000: another autistic user who likes to post really random questions about tiny little details of the show no one cares about, and likes to randomly propose Comedy Central shows no one would watch.
  • cetrata: obsessive ass-berger who showed up one day insisting Drew dropped the F-bomb, when the consensus from the rest of the site was that he didn't. Quickly banned for getting mouthy with the staffers, using "Twitter-speak," and repeatedly calling Gavazzi "Moderator" after being told not to. Came back once as Kan Dyle, then again as Plinko13, mt0708-style. Both aliases were quickly banned.
  • DrewCareyRichFieldsFan: provides no real contribution, only saying "RIP" when someone dies or "happy birthday". Posts everything in bold font.
  • elskunkoman: Does nothing but complain about contestants who don't win their games. States the obvious about how if more games were won, we'd have had a perfect show. Posts read like they were written by a firstgrader. Whenever someone makes a post that's really random and makes no sense, other users are fond of saying, "Are you related to elskunkoman?" Banned January 2013 for some asinine threat against site staff in "The Person Below Me" game.
  • FDRFan: not sure if this one's autistic or just a moron, but shows a painfully obvious disconnect with reality.
  • Gameshowboy92: another dumbass from the "claims to have Asperger's" crowd. Typically has a bad attitude around the boards.
  • GameShowDude: another autistic user who whines about it when no one wants to trade with him, because of how he whines when he doesn't get what he wants, and then blames his autism...
  • godgundam10: User whose crowning achievement was trying to start a hunger strike because of how few gameshows are on daytime TV.
  • guerreritoboy: total dumbass from Mexico who does the same thing as John92 and AthleticsFan, posting wildly speculative threads about foreign versions of the show, that are little more than mindless ramblings.
  • irepir: stupidly following in the footsteps of mt0708 and rushing the recaps to be posted every day. Clearly just another one of GRN's autistic idiots; has been told several times not to rush the recaps but still does it. Or did until he was banned.
  • jarvisbrodiea28: one of GRN's autistic jackasses who broke one of their rules and mouthed off about it, threatening to "blow up in your face" if anyone said anything. Banned for that.
  • jasonlarsenlucky34: another complete dumbass who kept asking where he could see episodes of the Australian show, then when someone tried to give him an answer, he said, "That's not good enough." Current status: BANNED!!!
  • jblaze23, mvp23_08, jfresh23_08, jsank23, ChrisJ_23: all accounts by the same user who was beyond obsessed with Shell Game. Has been banned multiple times and probably has several more accounts now.
  • John92: does the same thing as AthleticsFan. Nobody listens to him because, well...he's an idiot.
  • JonSea31: an autistic user who rambles on about whatever comes into his mind, whether or not it's related. Was warned after attempting to get other users to steal content from the TV Production Music Museum (and then blaming his autism when other users cried foul), and was banned after griping about Hurricane Irene coverage pre-empting PiR (and blaming autism again despite being warned by moderators not to do it again).
  • Matthew Armistead: another complete idiot from the "may not have autism but sure as hell acts like it" crowd. (Really just wheelfan1991 in disguise.)
  • mt0708: Did nothing but complain about how much he wanted the show to go to nine pricing games and three showcases, and constantly declared games "technical wins." Despite repeated warnings by moderators, constantly posted "Where is today's recap?" topics, and was ultimately banned. Continues to post as user "Luke Steftenagel."
  • palmer7: complete moron who has a bad reputation after trying to get other users to steal TVPMM stuff for him. Tried to get an interview with Rich Fields, who offered to answer his 10 most pressing questions, then cancelled when palmer "reserved the right to come up with more." Defended another user who "renamed affiliates in his mind" and confused the crap everyone else. Banned for letting banned bully shieldsy101 sockpuppet him.
  • Price123: User whose crowning achievements were two "What if Happy Gilmore were a contestant on TPiR?" threads. Also constantly asking about which of two random shows were better.
  • PriceBusterXL: clone of TheGRVOfLightning, just as dumb, just as nonsensical, same avatar, same grammar, different person, different username. Notable for spamming most recap threads with a random Youtube video that doesn't have anything to do with that show. LOL WUT And it turns out, the moron can't even tell when someone disagrees with him!!! If you can't read above a kindergarten level, you shouldn't be on the Internetz pal.
  • rodroddyfan: dumbass whose posts look like they were written by HAL9000 or Jerry from "Sphere." Constantly posts "please pray for..." threads but makes no real contribution to the site.
  • sravenes: an obvious autistic moron whose posts are really random, and always seem to involve the number 5 in some way (which 5 games do you want to retire, which 5 retirees should be brought back, loves 5 Price Tags, etc.). More recently tried to start a HYO, in the style of TheGRVOfLightning, only to get stopped because--just like TheGRVOfLightning--did not read the rules. Continues to post in a way that omits capital letters and spelling. Moron.
  • steven.jordan.332: posterboy for autism and everything that annoys normal people. Can't make a coherent sentence, or use capital letters, and constantly spams the site with garbage. Warned more times than you'd believe to clean up his act, shows no sign of doing so. Complains that he doesn't understand the site is a forum, not a chat room, and keeps saying he's leaving the site, only to come back and spam the site with more useless garbage EVERY time. Tried to start a HYO, got told that he'd have to be coherent about it, and famously said "I can't do that." Banned for 24 hours after a real whiny post about autism and being like the worst of them, hasn't posted since. (Good riddance.) That is, until he came back...and immediately started spamming the site with garbage again. Or did, until he was banned for good; posting threads despite being told not to by the mods isn't too smart there, dumbass!!! Goodbye, good riddance.
  • TheGRVOfLightning: user Whose Posts are Randomly capitalized, have REAL bad grammar, and never make a bit of sense. Tried to do Host Your Owns without even asking if there were rules, and when someone finally let him it turned into a total trainwreck. Complete dumbass who says he's autistic. Found out about this site and complained about it, hinting that he thought it was retaliation for insulting another member with stuff from here, only to get banned a short time later.
  • toomeyjt1983: autistic TPiR alum who appeared on the site and immediately wrote letters (to whom, we're not sure) advocating a TV series about bullying.
  • tryingtobecharming: Posts whatever comes into his head, regardless of whether it relates to the discussion (which most of the time, it doesn't). Several G-R users have commented, "You can't go in expecting relevance" with his posts. Banned early in 2012, not really sure why.
  • vnisanian2001: user who demanded all the VTR dates from every version of the show, then bumped the thread when no one answered. Has not been heard from since.
  • whowouldeverhurtawahmmy: user whose posts read like they were written by HAL9000 or by Jerry from "Sphere." Pretty much a total dumbass.
  • William: total and complete dumbass that arrogantly thinks he's going to change the way people look at gameshows...without the slightest clue about how TV really works. Made the ridiculous and completely idiotic statement that he thinks TV originally existed only to entertain people and was then taken over by greedy businesspeople solely out to make money.

Famous events

  • The Price Is Right Live: Not to be confused with a set of live shows done in Las Vegas by Todd Newton, ClockGameJohn did "live" shows in GRN's chatroom. However, there wasn't been a single live show done since 2006 until 2013, and no one really knows why. The current rendition of the show is hosted by goldenroadfanatic. Likewise, why it came back, nobody really knows why.
  • Daniel Rosen trolls the site: [2] In 2004, in the period after Rod Roddy died but before Rich Fields became announcer, several guest announcers tried out for the role. A single user registered over 9,000 accounts to support Rosen, a guest announcer whom everyone else thought completely sucked ass. ClockGameJohn, however, found him out and pwned him on a topic called, "Welcome, Troll!"
  • DuffnationUSA: In early 2007, a user by this name proposed a bunch of changes to TPIR, such as models in bikinis (something that, might we add, has actually happened now that Drew Carey is the host), bidding in secret in Contestants' Row, inviting the fired models, and showing Bob Barker's last episode live. The fanb01z, being ass burgers, fired back, flamed him, and got him permab&. Nevar forget.
  • MOAR threads: [3] [4] [5] [6] The last link contains spoilers, hence why DuffNation was b&. ZOMG HEAVEN FORBID SOMEONE SPOIL THE OUTCOMES OF THEIR PRECIOUS GAMESHOW!!! D: D: D: D: D:
  • Bob Barker's retirement: The entire Golden Road.net fan community went up in arms when Bob Barker decided to retire from The Price Is Right after hosting it for 35 years straight. Most of them thought that the show should have been cancelled, and those that wanted the show to go on wanted some robotic clone like Todd Newton or John O' Hurley to be the new host. And when Drew Carey was picked, it took them a while to believe it. Are they stubborn or what? xD
  • Field of 64 Pricing Games: Someone named sideshowPA pulled this idea out of his ass. Basically, he took 64 pricing games and played an NCAA-style elimination tournament with them. The winrar was not Golden Road, Plinko, or Cliff Hangers but "Hole in One". The tournament lasted through the show's 35th season.
  • Chatroom drama: Robert Searcy got paranoid of FPGWillyT abusing his moderator powers in the chatroom late in 2007, and starting going batshit crazy. He started urging people to boycott the site and the chatroom. Marc Green fired him, and possibly banned him. The irony is, FPGWillyT did nothing wrong. LOL WUT. [7] [8] Someone on BuzzerBlog later recounted the event as Marc acting "like a little baby here a few months ago because someone peed in his corn flakes, and he stepped down as the admin? What a cry baby." QFT.
  • The meltdown: [9] Junkaholic95 got all pissy because someone DARED to criticize Bob Barker. The ensuing lulz caused Marc Green to disable editing of posts. After some protests, the ability to edit posts returned, but not before ClockGameJohn put a 10-minute limit on editing. And what did all that accomplish? Nothing. By the way, the "anonymous member" is actually a user named WarioBarker, aka Daniel Benfield. Nice try.
  • Terry Ownz the Showcase: In December 2008, a contestant by the name of Terry totally owned the showcase by making a perfect bid. The entire Golden Road.net fan community went up in arms about Drew Carey's non-reaction. Fanbois claimed to cause Terry's win, but Terry said they were losers.

Roger Dobkowitz Gets Fired

On July 3, 2008, longtime producer Roger Dobkowitz got pwned by the suits at Fremantle Media for unknown reasons. But, given the fact that he is associated with Bob Barker, it may be because they want to get rid of Bob's legacy completely and make people associate the show with Drew Carey.

Seems like a perfectly good reason to fire someone, amirite? Out with the old; in with the new. C'est la vie. But the fanb01z, being autistic, don't see it that way. Just as they thought Bob Barker should continue hosting until he died onstage, they think that Roger should continue until he dies in the director's box.

So, in an emo fit of butthurt, Marc Green deleted fucking everything and made a thread called "The End of the Golden Road", which contained announcements that implied that he would be shutting the site down. The fanb01z responded accordingly, blaming Fremantle Media like Adolf Hitler blamed Jews. Some were already swearing off the show even though Season 36 (and therefore Roger's run) didn't end until July 17, 2008, and some even called for a boycott of Price. Loyal Friends and True...quitting watching the show they're loyal to!?! OMGWTFBBQ!?! Now that's hypocrisy. LOL!

The grand irony was, they were already saying that Price has jumped the shark when they didn't even know who Roger's successor will be! They were already scaring fellow TPIR fans with phantoms of video walls, LCD Contestants' Row podiums, and other stuff that Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! adopted many years ago. Further proving that they all have Asperger Syndrome.

They did this shit last year when Bob Barker left...and even the most hardcore fanb01z admit that Drew Carey does a much better job than they first thought. History's repeating itself. Everything old is new again. If Roger Dobkowitz's successor turns out to be like Drew Carey, or if nothing ends up changing when Season 37 begins, they'll likely end up committing suicide because they suck at life. ROFLMAO

Golden Road.net recovers...uh, we think

By July 17, 2008, Golden Road.net was finally back up. The "End of the Golden Road" forum was replaced with a forum called "Split Decision". In that forum, there are two threads. The first one is for sending "The Dob" well-wishes that will later be shown to him. But in the other forum, ClockGameJohn claims that he BALEETED the old forum to "preserve the integrity of the site". The grand irony is, he and Marc Green were the ones who encouraged users to destroy the integrity in the first place.

Do these guys know Jark, by any chance? They sure are acting a lot like him...

Anyway, while the "End of the Golden Road" forum may have been deleted, the quotes have not. Because the truth can't be hidden, and the Internets nevar forget. See the "Notable Quotes" section below.

Also, some members of the site have actually seen the show in person and have confirmed that some changes have been made to the show. This thread contains lots of ongoing debate about Season 37.

[10] But while taping for Season 37, it appears that someone made a mistake while playing Plinko. Also, there were quite a few...uh, problems...with the Showcase Showdown wheel. To Anonymous, this is shit no one cares about...yet, once again, just like with Roger Dobkowitz's firing, the fanb01z are already raising bloody hell about a possible rigging scandal. And, once again, they're blaming Fremantle for everything. So they still haven't recovered from "The Dob"'s firing. Troll for the lulz PLZ.

GRN finds out about this page

Golden Road.net found out about this article. And their reactions to it only confirm to us that they are stupid fucktards. They are accusing Anonymous of slander and are acting extremely butthurt. Like we haven't already seen that shit a million times with Snapesnogger, DivineAngel, and their own MDetector5? LOL. xD

All their accusations and emo whining seem to center around a user on that site named "Alex" who was banned in 2006. Alex just happens to go by the name A-l-e-x-99 on this website, and he wrote the first version of this page, and stops by occasionally to do maintenance or add lulz. The grand irony is, they're accusing him of doing stuff that they do on a regular basis. They're also accusing him of really wild shit like harrassing users via private messaging, which he never did.

All he did in his short period of time on GRN was lurk through the Golden Gallery, and make a few posts. In the thread titled "Card Game rules", he tried to post a poll, but the software the site ran on at the time was glitchy as hell, and it kept eating his poll. He let his anger boil over on the site by posting "DAMN IT, WHERE'S MY ****ING POLL!?!" in red and with really big text, and he was banhammered in June 2006 for that.

ClockGameJohn SAID it was a 30-day ban. Yet, 90 days went by and he was never unbanned. Although he threatened to sue the site, nothing really ever got off the ground. He E-mailed ClockGameJohn about the ban, and Marc apologized for CGJ's douche baggery...by being a douche bag himself. And he is still banned, even to this day. Which is why we said earlier that CGJ was arrogant and a dumb fuck.

Alex vowed back then that he would ruin the website and everything it stood for, but eventually, he just gave up. But, in a rather ironic twist of fate, that's what the site's been doing to itself lately. And their reaction to this article proves it.

Unfortunately, Frank15 locked this thread after just three pages. Some argue that if he hadn't, the thread would've boiled into an over 9,000-page clusterfuck of epic fail.
