Crusader888

From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Jump to navigationJump to search

Leslie H. Higgins (aka crusader, crusader0, crusader00, crusader44, crusader88, crusader888, and Julius_A) is a rich, spoiled, weeaboo nerd and wannabe poet from Massachusetts. Despite his childish interests and being born and raised in Liberal World Headquarters, he abandoned atheism in order to become a Catholic, racist, anti-feminist, homophobic monarchist wingnut who majored in Political Science, Philosophy, and Theology at Assumption College and sent the last several years (since 2006) hours blogging about anime and protecting the purity of our precious bodily fluids against "Cultural Marxism". Needless to say, he must've been a massive disappointment to his parents.

Yes, Leslie is a male.

Over eight years of sonnets and blabber down the drain.

Crusader--that is, Leslie Higgins--graduated from Assumption College with majors in Political Science, Philosophy, and Theology. A lover of soda, a frequenter of coffeehouses, a longtime sonneteer, a fan of manga and anime, and a lifelong monarchist, he is an ex-atheist convert to traditional Roman Catholicism and a supporter of the Crusade of Saint Benedict Center and the Social Kingship of Christ. Unafraid of mixing politics and religion, he is a registered Republican of the paleoconservative, nationalist variety. Quixotic and reactionary, he's often cheery, but can be rather in-thy-face.

Leslie also participates on Stormfront and participated on Metapedia as "Julius_A". He served as a Metapedia sysop from January 2013 to December 2014, when he left over the the banning of his friends and the deletion of his precious anime articles and was later desysopped for suggesting a boycott against Metapedia.

Schooling and blogging

Higgins was born on December 23, 1988, and sent most of his life in Northampton, Massachusetts. He lived as an atheist before having a spiritual awakening later in life. Leslie became a conservative in 2000.

He was inspired by a performance of West Side Story to always wear a tie:

Why, you may ask, do I wear a tie? Back in sophomore year of high school, I saw a very nice performance of West Side Story, and everyone on stage was wearing a tie. They all looked so nice, and I figured, 'It may be unpopular and out of style, but it's not illegal to dress well, so I'll do it anyway'.

—Leslie on feeling pretty, [1]

He started crusader888.blogspot.com (then entitled The Young and Once Good Pundit) in 2006 to order to share his poetry, his feelings on women he can't keep, and his ravings on atheists, homosexuals, abortionists, and liberals. By February 2007, he began showing fascist leaning. He twice expressed sympathies towards the Christian Falangist Party ([2], [3]), and by May 2007, he even label himself "a right wing, Falangist character".

In June 2007, a comment by Leslie led to John W. Ratcliff creating two blog entries about him:

Here's what Ratcliff had to say about Leslie Higgins:

So, who stuck a burning ember up my ass tonight and inspired me to write a rant about theological logic? Why, it was an odd comment posted on one of my other web logs by an eighteen year old religious fundamentalist who, at this tender age, is already filled with hate, and fear, and anger.

I find it rather sad.

The comment I received is as follows:

"Not a good move you are making. The Freemasons are an antireligious, relativistic, vile entity." by Crusader88 AKA 'Leslie H. Higgins'

I can only feel relieved, I suppose, that I wasn't hassled by Crusaders number 1 through 87. This silly comment was posted by an 18 year old young man who lives in Northampton, Massachusetts. His occupation is as a cashier which is to assist him as a student pursuing his education. He is clearly male and sports the astrological sign of Capricorn and was born under the Zodiac year of the Dragon. But, why should I babble on here, let the Crusader speak for himself.

About Me

Basically, I'm pretty cool, popular, and politically incorrect, very conservative, most Quixotic, in-thy-face, loving, and poetic. I am a hopeless romantic who both loves and hates his native, Godless Northampton Massachusetts.

I am a Republican, and I support President Bush on most issues, but where the Church teaches differently, I cannot support him. I am a traditional Catholic and a supporter of the Crusade of Saint Benedict Center, but a patriot who believes in capitalism, the Republic, and nonreligious liberties. A convert to the faith from atheism, I'm optimistic, but an often bitter warrior for truth and justice, who fights on alone with his large heart filled up with God's mission. I've got college ahead, and may become a lawyer, though no careers really interest me. But I must get one, because my #1 goal is to be married, and convince the wife to beget a big Catholic family!

At an uncertain date, Higgins was profiled on masonicinfo.com's list of anti-Masons:

Leslie H. Higgins - To those over the age of 25 or 26, it probably seems ludicrous to profile someone age 18 as an anti-Mason. Nevertheless, these are people who are old enough to drive, to drink, and to serve their country in time of war so they are as much a part of society as anyone despite the fact that we know fully well how immature and uninformed their ideas can be. Mr. Higgins' 'Crusader 88' blog identifies him as a cashier who wants to be a lawyer (uh-huh!) and who is interested in Jewish girls in order to raise a large Catholic family. Mr. Higgins comes from an area where some have been magnetically attracted to what others deem a heretical pseudo-Catholic enclave, the anti-Masonic Crusade of Saint Benedict Center who want to "...turn America into one true Church". It's sad to see young people with such malleable minds being told that the Masons are anti-religion and worse. We wish Mr. Higgins luck as he continues on life's journey. Hopefully when we look in on him a few years from now he will have matured and won't still be a cashier in some store.

In July 2007, Leslie became a Ron Paul supporter.

In August 2007, Higgins began attending Assumption College.

In February 2009, Leslie began to question the value of progressing toward a colorblind society, and in April 2009, Leslie expressed his support for the British National Party.

In December 2009, "Atobe", who speaks as if he were a character from The Prince of Tennis, joined the blog, and the blog was renamed to A Blog from Atobe.

Throughout his college years, Leslie served a member of Assumption's Student Government Association, and attempted to become SGA President in 2010 and lost.

In 2011, Higgins graduated from Assumption.

In October 2011, Higgins became the sole contributor to the blog again, and the blog was renamed to The E'er Good Pundit.

In May 2012, Leslie expressed his support for Greece's fascist Golden Dawn party.

Manga and anime

See Crusader888/AnimangaIndex for an index of Leslie's and Atobe's thoughts and opinions on various animes, mangas, light novels, and video games.

In May 2007, Higgins expressed his admiration towards The Vision of Escaflowne and Le Chevalier D'Eon, which he called "the only two animes [he] like[s]", although he'll learn to like a lot more than that. In August, Higgins expressed his love for Escaflowne in greater detail, and he later did the same for Le Chevalier D'Eon in May 2009.

By November 2008, Higgins became a Bleach fan. In February 2009, Higgins became a Rozen Maiden fan. Leslie explains his passion for Rozen Maiden in fuller detail in June. According to Atone, Leslie's new-found interest in anime stemmed from listening to Smile.dk's "Butterfly".

By August 2010, Leslie watched every Sailor Moon episode and movie.

In September 2011, Leslie expressed his support for pedobear-endorsed manga Kodomo no Jikan, which he called a "masterwork".

In December 2011, Leslie blogged about his fondness for lolita fashion.

In December 2012, Leslie wrote of his love for moe and his distaste for feminism.

Leslie doesn't want you to know about "two million years ago".

In October 2007, Leslie anonymously removed all references to evolution and time periods older than five thousand years ago from Wikipedia's articles on Aurochs and the European bison. On the next day, Leslie blogged about how wonderful it felt to be a Wikipedian:

I feel like such a chivalrous man today. Having found several errors on Wikipedia yesterday (i.e., things purporting evolution to be more than myth), this pundit set out to correct them. Not only is being a WikiWarrior fun and easy, but it's also a good way to fight for Truth and to live the Christian way each day.

Each day, huh?

The next month, Leslie used an Assumption College computer to anonymously call Northhampton a "People's Republic" and to insert a passage about himself into Wikipedia's "Northampton Public Schools, Massachusetts" article:

Controversy
In October 2006, during Northampton High School's school spirit week, Booster Week, the school's sports director changed the name of the annual girls-only flag football game from Powder Puff to Girl's Flag Football at the advice of several faculty members. The new shirts were also emblazoned with "THERE'S NO "PUFF" IN THIS GAME". Widely interpreted as a feminism-inspired switch, then-student and conservative activist Leslie Higgins wrote up a petition to bring back "Powder Puff" and reverse the switch, eventually collecting some 477 student and 3 faculty signatures.. The original name was restored with the support of the high school's principal, Dr. Beth Singer, although too late for the 2005 Booster Week shirts to bear the name "Powder Puff".

That passage about himself wasn't removed until September 2008 (way to go, Wikipedia patrol).

In October 2010, Leslie created his "Julius_A" persona and joined Stormfront.

By Autumn 2011, Leslie was again editing Wikipedia as an anon. The post-2011 revisions from that IP address are obviously his, but how can we tell that the 2011 revisions belong to Higgins as well? Elementary, dear readers: The anon added a reference to the author of the Detective Conan manga series to the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle article, and a few months later, Leslie boasted about having watched over 500 episodes of the Detective Conan anime:

Admittedly, besides the usual reading and writing, my free time has been taken up in trying to finish one spectacular and spectacularly long anime, Detective Conan. […] As of yesterday, I passed episode 550, and have about 100 more to go before I can finally add this hefty notch to my anime belt.

File:Crusader888BlogspotSidebar4.png
Prior to its deletion, crusader888.blogspot.com's sidebar of links contained a link to Metapedia.

By February 2012, Leslie was making anonymous revisions to Wikipedia's "American Freedom Party" article, of which Leslie (as "Julius_A") will later claim to be the 257th member of.

In March 2012, Leslie joined Metapedia, and on October 1, 2012, he anonymously inserted a reference to a Metapedia article into Wikipedia's "2011 England riots" article:

Outside of the lamestream media, several monikers derisive of migrants and Black British were concocted, most notably Metapedia's term, Planet of the Apes Riots.

From August 2011 until January 2015, Metapedia's article on the riots was entitled the "Planet of the Apes riots".

Around seventeen minutes after his revision to the "2011 England riots" article, Leslie anonymously revised Wikipedia's article on "The Wizard (film)". A few days later, he argued with the Wikipedians over the "American Freedom Party" article through the same IP address, and then boasted about it on Stormfront:

Well, I gave my mind to the antifa[cist] encyclopedists. Good luck convincing the gatekeepers though.

Several days after that, Leslie published his thoughts on The Wizard on his blog, and by the end of the month, the blog's sidebar contained a link to Metapedia under the "Of Interest" section.

I have had plenty of Jewish friends, since there were many of them where I was growing up. Many of them are wonderful people--it wasn't personal experience that made me wary of their influence, but rather reading about their negative influence on Christendom and my opposition to Israel--but as per the stereotypes they're overwhelmingly liberal, and politically anti-family. Almost all had something of a victim mentality, and admitted that devotion to Israel was a must within their families.

I have always been disposed toward racialism, but until just a year or two back I went to great pains to separate my cultural reactionary conservatism from any matters of race. I mean, I was never a multiculti or an affirmative action booster, but I was ignorant of the importance of race as a foundation for the political order, and did my best to deny that the differences between races is politically relevant.

East Asians are certainly preferable to Blacks and Mestizos. Glad those already here are 'assimilating' properly! More importantly, they pose a much smaller threat to White America, as their birth rates are even more abysmal than ours.

Our races face many of the same threats. Once the Jews have destroyed the White nations, many will flee the savages they have enabled and begin to annihilate the Yellow nations too, unless they are expelled first. Thankfully East Asians are, like every other race, already far more nationalistic.

Bravo! Cardinal George never seemed particularly brave or outspoken to me, but his willingness to bring the Jews to account stirs me.

At any rate, Madonna is a Jew by adoption, which is fitting for a culture distorter par excellence.

The case of Lourdes is tragic. She's simply being raised in the worst sort of environment (though she has such a cute name). Though, on the other hand, I do believe any white child anywhere is capable of waking up, no matter how much egalitarian propaganda they're fed, if they have a certain kind of soul. Let's pray for the 1 in 100 chance that she turns out alright+

Unfortunately, Adelstein is working alongside White Japan hater David Aldwinckle. The Japan Times is a hotbed of Gramscians.

http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/David_Aldwinckle

Thankfully, Shinzo Abe is as nationalistic as respectable, elected leaders get, and the nationalist right has grown since the Senkaku Islands dispute. The Left is in disarray, and it looks as if Japan's LDP dominant-party system has returned for a while. Bless those East Asians.

My, my, it seems no one can disagree with us without being labelled a traitor, a.k.a. on the level of liberals (especially Jews) who expressly hate and want to wipe out the White race and its culture(s).

Like Taylor, I think European Jews are White, but I think they are a distinct ethno-religious group largely bent on destroying the West, often via deracination. Just because they are White, it does not follow that we need associate with them any more than with non-Jewish liberals.

No tips for degenerates. It should be as simple as that. Props to the man whose Christian faith led him to refuse to finance the sin of Sodom.

Unfortunately I expect sodomites have a mutation that will persist to the last generation. Homos are the new Jews, and even more organized and dangerous if you ask me.

Julius_A

I am glad someone is bringing this up. Organized degeneracy is already nearly as powerful as organized Jewry in the West, which is to be expected given the generous overlap between the two. White nationalists should oppose both in toto.

Johnson, Donovan, et al. want us to associate Greek martial ethic with homosexuality. However, even a brief glance at Wikipedia reveals that there is no trace of pederast culture in Homeric times.

Pederasty in ancient Greece - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One homosexual author I do recommend is Yukio Mishima. His Forbidden Colors, though written a few years before his nationalistic maturity, is an interesting social novel that revolves around the homosexual subculture of 1950s Japan. Unlike the fantasies of the above authors, Mishima has no illusions about the unreservedly hostility of sodomites for orthosexual society, which his characters frequently critique after the style of cultural Marxists.

In March 2012, Leslie created his Metapedia, and in June 2012, Julius_A tried to bring his love of anime to the wiki by advocatedthe creation of a Metapedia counterpart to Wikipe-tan:

Gentlemen,

I really love Metapedia, and though I don't plan on being an editor or contributor, I do want to help expand its readership and give it a better image. When I was looking at other wikis, I noticed that we lack a great asset they all have. We need a -tan character. Wikipe-tan has been an adorable fixture on the Internet since 2006. Now she has sisters, Commons-tan and Quote-tan. Uncyclopedia has Uncyclo-tan, Encyclopedia Dramatica has Ae-tan, and Conservapedia even has the foe-designed Conservape-tan. I think it is time someone create Metape-tan! Not only would having a moe anthropomorphization be really cute, but it could help to create a softer side to Metapedia and to White advocacy in general. I can see Metape-tan as a real draw for White otakus who've never considered our movement, and helping to break the ice for newbies still initimdated by our harsh appearance and articles on the Jews.

Like Wikipe-tan, Metape-tan wouldn't need to be official, but I am asking here in case anyone good with image design is up to the task. In any case, I think it's better if we design our -tan now, instead of waiting for a hostile designer with a bias to create our Conservape-tan! 30 June 2012, Julius A.

Julius_A then reposted his plea at Stormfront, along with a request for a "Storm-tan":

I imagine there will be objections, but there are a lot of people on the Internet to whom this would instantly appeal, whom we have not, by and large, reached yet. Plus, there is great potential for a design: so many anime characters already have European features! Thus do I submit my task to anyone with the skill and imagination to make a dream reality! (Also, though Stormfront is a forum rather than a wiki, how about a Storm-tan?!)

Both requests fell on death's ears, but by September 2014, Julius_A's dreams came true in the form of Ebola-chan, which he created a Metapedia article for. Julius_A also authored Metapedia's articles on Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, and Dragon Ball.

In January 2013, NatAll75 made Julius_A a sysop.

In April 2013, Julius_A, who hadn't forgotten his argument with the Wikipedians over the "American Freedom Party" article, added an "American Freedom Party" entry to Metapedia's "Examples of censorship and propaganda in Wikipedia" article and listed "Orangemike", "Heironymous Rowe", and "Dominus Vobisdu" as the "enforcers" of the article. This led to Metapedia's attack dog Basileus creating a article on Orangemike:

[…] How familiar are you with the American Freedom Party? I notice that you added some information about the bias against this party on Wikipedia. We certainly need a good article on this group since they seem to be the best option for American nationalism. I have created an article on the communist Wikipedia admin Orange Mike to humiliate and expose him for his attacks on the AFP Wikipedia article. Basileus 17:00, 23 April 2013 (CEST)

Julius_A responded to Basileus' comment by saying that he had considered writing a hit piece on Orangemike himself:

Yeah, Mike Orange? I considered doing a write-up on him, but figured any piece on that cheesehead would end up looking like an Encyclopedia Dramatica article. Julius A 02:28, 24 April 2013 (CEST)

In August 2013, Julius_A attempted to defend the dignity of weeaboos everywhere by claiming that "weeaboos" and "otakus" aren't anything alike ([56], [57]):

Amen to that! I was working on a belated artice on Dragon Ball right before turning here. I really think the video is just a childish insult with no place here and will remove it. Then a distinction between otaku and weeaboo is in order, at least. Julius A 05:20, 11 August 2013 (CEST)

Removed needless anti-anime bias. Added standard distinction between otaku/weeaboo, etc.

Well, I still think the video itself, while billed as describing a Weeaboo, is really just insulting otakus. But the article has had some clarification, and one can't always have things their way, so I guess I will accept it for now. Julius A 18:13, 12 August 2013 (CEST)

Departure from Metapedia

On November 12, 2014, Metapedia's "Month of Long Knives" began with the banning of Basileus. Within the next thirty days, "Galileo", "A Wyatt Man", and Hu1 were also disenfranchised and banned, and a great article purge had commenced. On December 10th, Upplysning deleted the articles on Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Dragon Ball, and Manga. Julius_A didn't notice any of these events until December 18th: [58], [59], [60]. On the next day, Julius flounced ([61], [62]), and asked Stormfront users to boycott Metapedia. This led to Upplysning desyopping Julius. Self-righteous, drama queen Julius then made a comment about "laying down his life sysop rights for his friends".

In March 2015, Julius_A requested the blocking of his own account and the deletion of his account's talk page, apparently leaving Metapedia for good and perhaps setting his path on a positive coarse.

Flight from the Internet

On December 29th, a relentless Encyclopedia Dramatica user connected Julius_A to crusader888.blogspot.com and constructed an article on the next day. A little over a week after that, Leslie apparently discovered the article, and deleted his blog, his tradyouth.org account, and his Amazon account.

Relationship with the "damsels"

Last Tuesday, my Acting & Directing class went on a field trip to see Anne Bogart's take on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Last period, I found the class exalting her for having the fairies act like satyrs (too sensual, etc.) and naturally there was Catholic bashing. I can understand this. Our culture is, like many before it, drowning in sexuality. Doesn't anyone besides me want a break from this, to have their heart reside in pure affection rather than lust? really, I'm getting a headache from all this! Oh well, I guess that the Church's recognition of diabolic influence in allegorical satyrs and such will coninue to be attacked because we Westerners are so immursed in paganism and lies. I despair of this at times.

And yes, I did just give a full quatrain to her hair- it's like a mop crafted by Venus, and would put Mary Magdalen and Helen of Troy to shame. Sadly, she doesn't like it very much, and sometimes spends hours steamrolling its curls, causing me to be sad ///ohhhhh...if only I could touch her hair!!///- Yes, I am going crazy.

How nice! A fine lady at NHS wore a stunning, absolutely modest dress yesterday, so I figured I would reward her decency with a decent sonnet, just a bit comic. However, the agnostic Scot wore some less becoming stuffs today. In the spirit of Malcom X ("by any means necessary") I told her she'd get her poem only upon dressing well again. Poetic bribes are fun, I tell you!

Dress like a Puritan or else

She being quite the Catholic (though of a different strand than myself), and quite the hottie, I'd say it's the best advice I've ever given. Just imagine how much women's fashion would improve if women wore flowers in their blouses on formal occasions (or if they wore blouses).

Leslie likes cleavage

Leslie writes poetry for the ladies, whom he called "damsels" and "dames". He published his first such poet online in April 2006 in hopes of "win[ning] a nice hug." In June, Leslie tried winning the heart of the girl he wished to take to prom by dedicating a tl;dr poem about the English Civil War to her.

On October 2, 2006, he wrote a poem for his Atheist girlfriend, and on October 10th, this "de facto girlfriend" of his (srsly, his words) broke his heart:

My de facto girlfriend just crushed my heart. I wrote her three sonnets, gave her flowers, and brought her out once, completely footing the bill (like a real gentleman). And this is what I get?!

—lol, "de facto", [63]

Yet Higgins got over it the very next day. On October 25th, Leslie attempted to win back the heart of his former "de facto" girlfriend with more poetry:

Now, I will try and win my former lady back, as she enjoys my poetry so that I can continue to read her some. This piece I finished just yesterday after work (at Big Lots); it has already reveived a good review from my friends.

—Oh, the things people think of after a day's work at Big Lots, [64]

On November 13th, Leslie wrote about not being able to see his "damsel" anymore:

I'm never able to see the damsel I adore anymore! IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY! I have written her yet, yet another sonnet; I will try not to write her any more until our eyes again meet. ATTENTION: If anyone reading this blog knows her (hint: she has a lip ring), please tell her how much I still care about her! Here's her new poem, a bit dark to taste.

—Leslie, [65]

On November 17th, Higgins wrote about meeting his former girlfriend at a blooddrive, reading her a poem, and obtaining – wait for it – a hug! Plus, he wanted her to convert to the One True Faith:

I am very happy today. God certainly does reward good works! As I donated blood, I noticed that my dear damsel was donating blood at the same time! After shouting for the volunteers to let me go over to see her, I was able to read my dear Sonnet XX, which is posted below. As it denotes, her eyes are brown, but really closer to deep, dried and thickened blood red, but not to bad effect. They are as beautiful as rose petals, as innocent as the blood Christ shed on the Cross [okay, but nearly so!]; they are good to look into. Shy and modest as ever, she enjoyed the poem, and I got to hug her. Maybe next week I can convince her to go out [okay, but it's worth a try].

And when I'm a monk, this will all be of another life. She is indeed a soft jewel, but I do not want her as much as I want purity. I hope though to always pray for her, and a Jewish girl I knew last school year. I mean, they are so fine (though just the former in purity): would it not be the ultimate tragedy if both were tortured in Hell forever?

Pray for their conversions to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ; just think of the maidens as 'the heathens that crusader88 is concerned for' if necessary!

On December 8th, Higgins published what appears to be his final online poem to his former girlfriend, and by December 18th, Higgins was telling "Ted Kennedy" of how how going on on a date with a girl once was enough for him and that he was only interested in "simple joys" now:

[…] I see not why I have no life. Is sonnetry and prayer nothing? If it is, I love absolute nothing. I went out with a dear maiden once, and I feel it was enough. I merely want to be a monk now, to live a simple life with simple joys.

"I feel it was enough", [66]

It should be noted that this "overreacting Ted Kennedy" that Leslie was replying to was an obvious troll:

I've read your entire blog and I have only one thing to say about it:

The Virgin Mary is a CUNT!

You need a fucking life you loser. What is wrong with you, go have a good wank. God HATES YOU. He would anyway if he was real :) which he ISN'T. hahaha, yes yes, scorn the nonbeliever, I know, I know.

I am a 26 year old Wisconsin male, and my boyfriend's name is Gerard, and according to you I am an evil sodomite who will burn in Hell.

Maybe. But you know what?

I GET BLOWJOBS LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. I BET YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A BLOWJOB IS, YOU DICK. I hope you never have sex in your life, as obviously all those girls are only humouring you.

yours truly
~Ted Kennedy

(PS. John Kerry just whispered fondly into my ear how much he loves my burning loins and how much he hates you. He likes it when I dress up like Chairman Mao and tell dead baby jokes.)

Way to show your web-smarts, Leslie. "Ted" must've been laughing his ass off when he saw how Leslie took him serious, "I feel that it was enough", and "I merely want to be a monk now."

In February 2007, Leslie wrote a poem about a girl that he wished to take out on a date.

College

By June 2007, Leslie was once again without a girlfriend, and in November 2007, Leslie was complaining about being unable to find a girlfriend in a college with more girls than guys:

I have fulfill the duties quite well so far, but whenever I try my hand on a comforting devotion, it backfires. And I assure you, it is not fair. How is it that, in a college with a 40/60 men/women ratio, all the women are already taken? It's like Satan is bending the laws of probability to make me sad and lonely!

Leslie can't find a "boyfriend-free girl", [67]

And followed up with a rant the next day:

Maybe I could have a girlfriend if I dressed in a manner everyone else accepts and I have. So what! Should I really be looking for a woman who is so influenced by the society around her that she is scared off by a style of dress that was perfectly acceptable for our age group before the late 1960s? Or by a my cleanly parted, relatively long hair? Or by my obsessions with Catholicism and politics? Or which my poetry which, despite criticism from the tails of the bell curve, the actual recipients have always appreciated? Or from any of that sort of jazz? No. If a damsel doesn't want to go out with me because of my crooked smile, or another facet of my physical appearance, more power to them. I'm just looking for a lady that is wise and independent enough to look past the standards and expectations or society, and who will judge a person by something more than how they match up to the media-made templete of attractiveness. Contrary to what some have gotten from their first impression of me, the intellectual, makeup-hating damsel in cultural distress has no greater friend than me, crusader88.

Anyhow, this has been irrelevent thusfar in college. Of the three ladies I either planned to ask out or actually did, two already had boyfriends and one was still sad because of a painful breakup, God help her soul. Besides, don't James Bond and Justin Timberlake also wear ties and sportcoats? I see no deficit of women for either of them.

If I don't find my true love at Assumption, I can always go after a Traditional Catholic hottie. Where they come from (St. Mary's, KS, and other rural communities), ties are all the rage.

In May 2009, Leslie attempted to win a girl's heart via manga rather than poetry but failed:

I succeeded in convincing a friend to borrow a volume of my beloved Rozen Maiden, in the hopes that I could win her over and have a like-minded manga fan to talk to (I know of other fans, but usually we have nothing else in common!) She returned it two days later, explaining that she couldn't even understand it. Alas, she didn't even like the art. (It baffles me how could anyone could not like the art, which would be blurred if I showed it any smaller. Rozen Maiden is done by a duo called Peach-Pit).
