But I never even had other fans of it. Besides, I never wrote this page. "Sonic, Sonic" was my deviation, Nanananana6 is confusing it with another deviation I didn't own. Also, it's best NOT to mention that deviation's author.

Amy, Sally, and Mina are a BETTER version of Christian & the Hedgehog Boys.

One's a hedgehog, one's a chipmunk, one's a mongoose. Aside from singing 60s style pop songs, they ride roller coasters and play video games.

History

They originated on deviantART.com in October 2009 on a deviation called "Sonic, Sonic" uploaded by Sonbreezie, who got the idea after watching the three original female cast members of Saturday Night Live sing a 60s pop tune dedicated to the hospitalized Chevy Chase. Sonbreezie thought the song was cute. Being a Sonic fan and having just discovered another love interest for Sonic in the comics, Mina the Mongoose, she decided to do a parody of it with Sonic characters. She based which character sang which line on the similarities they had to the original cast member singing it. And to be fair, it matches up pretty well! The song doesn't rhyme in the first verse, but that's okay, as Sonbreezie was in fact seven. Sonbreezie liked her idea, so she decided to parody other SNL songs with the girls and write original songs for them to sing. When sonbreezie returned to deviantART in October 2015, she continued making songs for the girls.

But in 2016, sonbreezie officially revealed she no longer made any Amy, Sally, and Mina stuff and if she did, she'd usually regret it. She even tried to turn them into weed addicts and even made them human (Mina being a New Zealander based on the glorified view of New Zealand Sonbreezie had during the Bottom of the Barrel.) In 2018, this stopped and Sonbreezie came back to making Amy, Sally, and Mina songs, incorporating the band into her Sonic fanseries Mobius Redrawn and even getting "Sonic, Sonic" recorded by the voices of Amy, Sally, and Mina in that series. Her first major MIDI transcribe is of the original SNL song for this reason.

How did Sonbreezie spread the word?

  • TV Tropes had an article on them, but sadly is now removed from the site.
  • deviantART is where it's at if you want to see what's new from the girls.
  • They are even on Facebook.
  • They have a blog, too. It hasn't been updated much.
  • She wrote fanfiction about them. "Black Rose" could be considered an ASM fic, but isn't, as Sonbreezie didn't write it. Now "The Concert", yes, it even has "Sonic, Sonic" in it. Sonbreezie regrets writing it as it was during the phase of life when she went insane on the Internet (summer 2014, not to be confused with the more known Bottom of the Barrel in summer 2017.) She tried MSTing it in fall 2017.
  • A YouTube plush series is in the works.
  • Sonbreezie sometimes talks about a TV show she made up called "Sonic Night Live", a parody of Saturday Night Live. Different Sonic characters will host, but Amy, Sally, and Mina will almost always be the musical guest. She's attempting to make this a thing by having herself and her Mobius Redrawn actors record Sonic parodies of old '70s SNL sketches and hopefully getting the recordings animated.
    • For a while, it seemed like she didn't understand that "Sonic, Sonic" was a parody of "Chevy, Chevy", a song sung by Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, and Laraine Newman for Chevy Chase on Saturday Night Live (which she knew.) Oh, no. It seemed like she thought "Sonic, Sonic" was a real song.
      • But she actually believes Gilda, Jane, and Laraine would be good voices for Amy, Sally, and Mina... if Gilda wasn't dead since 1989.
