Marxist_thug, formerly known as latte_thunder and mrfuznut, is the semi-absentee maintainer of liberal, a forum that many say is the new debate due to its laid-back moderation style and frequent non-communication between members and maintainer.

Politics

Although he 'maintains' the largest liberal political community, he describes himself as "an intense civil libertarian, and also very fiscally conservative." In other words, a non-traditional liberal. Some say that Marxist_thug's brash personal nature and penchant for racist and sexist jokes make him more of a bastard than a liberal.

As he is a grad student studying modern Middle Eastern history, marxist_thug relies on his required-for-class research in discussions on Middle Eastern policy.

Moderation style

Marxist_thug is the maintainer of liberal in title only. His 'laid-back moderation style' is little more than keeping the place safe for trolls. Intelligent discussion of any kind is nearly impossible as every string of coherent thoughts is jumped on by no fewer than 10 full-time trolls, and Marxist_thug frequently bans actual users from the community as well.

In late August 2005, he threw a hissy fit of Hiroshima proportions and shut down his community, the idea of handing over modship to someone slightly more willing or capable of stopping its slow descent to Hell evidently having not occurred to him.
