Lol, the most abused abbreviation on the internet. But what does it mean? Usually one of these:

  1. Lack of Laughter
  2. I have nothing worthwhile to contribute to this conversation
  3. I'm finished typing my sentence now.(opposite of RAWR. Also more common than RAWR.)
  4. Laugh out loud, or laughing out loud for people that are new to the internet.
  5. I'm scratching my balls and not actually smiling or making any sound but typed it anyway.
  6. Lots of laughter/laughs (but those who think so are ghey)
  7. Also used when you say something unfunny and everyone else pities you.
  8. Lots of lulz, i.e. a corruption of lol.
  9. Lots of love <3 (is this supposed to be a heart or a ball sack?)
  10. Lots of loli
  11. Love our Lord
  12. Lots of Liquor
  13. Lets Order Linguine
  14. Lots of luck (Stock market talk. Usually indiscernible from laugh out loud, as the majority of the Stockhouse users are faggots. Has been used by Stockhouse users for at least 100 years.)
  15. Fun, though only if it originates from Dutchfags. Why? Because fun is lol in Dutch.
LOL

Lol is also spelled ELLOWELL, El-O'elh, and lolololololol

IRLOL

interj. (Acronym: in real life laughing out loud)
1: an exclamation used on the internet to express gaiety and to indicate that one has human laughed in real life, typically as a result of listening to funny jokes. (this term developed as a response to the CNN reports of lol fraud) [syn: IROFL]
n. (contraction of IRL and OL)
1: (irlol nervosa) a schizotypal disorder which causes confusion between realspace and hyperspace, resulting in either taking the internet too seriously or behaving in public as one would online (such as using acronyms like lol to describe their emotions).

LOL may be produced by web videos even if the users do not comment the content "LOL". Credit for the laugher can be honored by the originality and flow of the piece.
