S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is the first game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of FPSRPGWTFBBQ games by Soviet development studio GSC Game World. The game was originally released in 2007 after being stuck in development hell since the early 2000s. Shadow of Chernobyl began development as a soulless Halo knockoff entitled Oblivion Lost, which features aliens and Aztec temples. The game's setting was quickly changed to the Russian territory of Crimea, and then changed again to the Chernobyl exclusion zone where the final release takes place.
