Plot

The main character of Fooly Cooly is a stupid [[emo] kid with a boner coming out of his head, much like Gainax's other show Neon Genesis Evangelion. However, this is like infinity times better than that show cause there's this space babe who kicks his ass with a bass guitar every five minutes, and that philosophical and symbolic bullshit is kept to a minimum, except where it references sex.

The kid lives with his perverted dad and his weird-ass grandpa. Then he goes to school where his perverted friends are, and learns stuff from his perverted teacher. Then he hangs out with some other perverted emo girl who likes to burn things, especially kittens. In fact, everyone in the show is perverted except for him, because he's a little whiny emo bitch because his brother got laid in America. It also comes close to self-invoking Rule 34 several times, more so than your usual animu.

Also notable is that its music is loved by animu fans, and dissing it is a good way to generate drama on Japanophile forums.
