Grand Strategy games

This image is most likely fabricated, because a nigger's simple mind can't process complex thoughts such as having to lead a nation. Look at Africa for example.

A Grand Strategy is a type of game where the player is supposed to lead a nation by managing its resources. These can take various forms; as Video games or tabletop games, but either way you should know that all of these are simply bullshit, as most of the gameplay conists of the player constantly staring at a map for hours and doing worthless tasks while slowly eating out their soul and valuable time, so maybe instead you should just go outside.

Types of Grand Strategy games

Turn-based Strategy (TBS)

This is a type of GSGs where the gameplay takes place in turns - each player can only play during their turn. It is popular amongst tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. Although these can be mostly engaging when playing with other players, TBS video games can also be enjoyed alone in singleplayer where the other nations are controlled by AI.

Real-time Strategy (RTS)

RTS Grand Strategies involve a more immersive gameplay, where all players play simultaneously. Given the fact that every player can interact with the game at the same time, it is significantly harder for the game to be equal for everyone, therefore most RTS video games rarely feature multiplayer. However, recent times have sparked the creation of shitty browser games, such as Supremacy 1914, where players literally have to wait hours to perform simple tasks.

Popular Grand Strategy video games

  • Hearts of Iron IV - a game set around the period of World War 2. Primarily popularized by /pol/ users who through not being able to cope after realizing the world isnt as ideal as they want it to be instead go on and set off their rage by creating unrealistic fascist ethnostates in this game
  • Supreme Commander
  • Crusader Kings - series of RTS games where the player is placed as a king leading a medieval nation. To put it simply, most of the game's mechanics revolve around putting down peasant revolts and inbreeding your dynasty
  • Stellaris - sci-fi grand strategy where you control the galaxy and shit, boring and for retards wanting to have sex with aliens
  • Sid Meier's Civilization - series of games where each nation has a specific prominent historical leader assigned to it. Unfortunately, when you choose Germany you can't play as Hitler :(
