The original poster, before it was ruined forever.

Keep Calm and Carry On is a phrase originating from a series of propaganda posters issued by the British government during World War II, when that naughty Hitler was really rustling everybody's jimmies.

The posters featured the phrase in question accompanied by the crown of King George VI on a brightly colored, patriotic blue or red background and were intended to be displayed on public transport and in shop windows to boost morale should Britain ever be invaded by the Gnatsees. However, since that didn't happen, the posters were never seen by the public until after the war, when the only people left alive were fat, entitled babyboomers and their obnoxious, workshy spawn.

The phrase 'Keep Calm and Carry On' has since become an IRL forced meme and, as a result, has been run into the fucking ground. It can currently be seen adorning posters, T-shirts, mugs, tea towels and all other manner of overpriced shit ravenously consumed by fat, cultureless American fucktards and smug, hipster twats who think that "OMG OLD BRITISH THINGS ARE LIEK SOOOOOO CUTE AND FUNNY!!"

There were also two other posters produced, reading 'Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory' and 'Freedom is in Peril', but nobody gives a shit about them because they can't be easily modified into something unfunny.
