The Independence Day Invasion was a counter raid of tumblr by 4chan in response to an attempt by tumblr to raid /b/ - Random. It started when in response to the troll blog Shutdown4chan feminists went on /b/ and began shitposting about, feminism, (duh,) in droves. This resulted in thier being banhammered and the hornets nest that is /b/ retaliting, reminst of operation Overlord. Tags for socail justice warriors, fandoms, and even everyday shit were spaammed with gore porn rape, and worse in a successful attempt to decimate tumblr.
