SMW (Super Mario World) Central, your primary bitching resource. This is a place where you can do nerdy shit (primarily Mario ROMhacking) and complain about politics at the same time, because that's always a good idea. If nobody is telling you how misgendering someone makes you evil, they'll sure be telling you how awful your level design balances out with your aesthetics because the first thing people think of when they play games is how they're going to critique it. Oh wait. If you're still braindead enough to join SMWC, there are other completely useful subforums like Anime and Manga they got rid of it, and Trash Can. There was also World of Insanity where you could shitpost as long as it's intelligent shitposting, but it was taken down. The mods were too dense to realize this was a fuck-up so they brought it back again as The New World of Insanity, only to take it down again for teh lulz. Also the former owner was a brony because reasons. The current owner is a furry because even more reasons. It also turns out the staff have no qualms with defending pedophilia.

SMW hacking has a long history, but at least half of it was wiped out because the genius admins gave everyone mod powers for one day, so let's focus on what actually exists.

• Tools like the assembler TRASM were released
• They were shit
• People made new tools like another assembler called xkas
• Plot twist: xkas still fucking sucks, so everyone uses Asar now
• A guy made something that makes the game run faster
• Plot twist: it breaks every patch and tool because it remaps everything
• Someone else made something that makes the game run twice as fast as the other thing but nobody knows how to use it
• Tools like Romi's Spritetool were released
• Romi's sucked
• PIXI was released
• Plot twist: PIXI still sucks, so Spritetool would stay on SMWC until the end of the remoderation
• Somebody made a patch for dynamic sprites or something like that
• People know how to use SA-1
• Somebody made a new patch for dynamic sprites
• Dynamic Z sucks, so everyone still uses dsx.
• GIEPY was released, and it's the only actual sprite tool that actually works, hooray!
• Someone made AddMusic.
• AddMusic b0rked on accurate emulators
• Someone made AddMusic4.
• It still b0rks.
• Someone made AddMusicM.
• Third time is in fact not the charm, because it still fuckin b0rks.
• Someone made AddMusicK
• It doesn't b0rk (in the opinion of most people), a truly historical feat.
• LevelASM was released which let you run code at the start of a level and every frame of a level
• It sucked
• UberASM was released and also extended it to overworlds and other shit
• It was bulky
• UberASMTool was released
• FuSoYa made a patch that lets you SCROLL THE SCREEN IN PIPES! WOAH!
• He also made a patch that lets you put in your own blocks
• It was bulky as well
• Someone made BTSD (Blocktool Super Deluxe) to fix that and have it as a standalone program
• What the fuck do you think? I'm sure you're even as tired of this repetitive cycle as much as I am.
• Someone else made GPS (Gopher Popcorn Stew, great fucking name) which is less shit
• WHOOPS! SCREEN-SCROLLING PIPES NO LONGER WORK!!!
• Another fag (sorry this was considered too offensive by SMWC) made a bunch of blocks and some UberASM code to give you screen-scrolling pipes that now work in GPS yay!

The entire site also uses a level editor called Lunar Magic. Even though the creator of Lunar Magic, FuSoYa, won't ever release the source code even when there's major flaws that a 5-year-old could fix, everyone worships it as the required tool for SMW hacking. Despite how Lunar Magic has everything outside of music or code, including inserting custom graphics, a fully-functional tile editor that lets you edit behavior and graphics of tiles, and even a palette editor, people tend to make levels and hacks that make Hotel Mario look like art. Although this leads to people making condescending comments, they're the same people who think Brutal Mario is a masterpiece, when in reality it's an overrated clusterfuck.

Custom layouts

Expect a lot of this on SMWC.

The only thing worse than the hacking on this site is the forums. The brony owner (boner?) struck again with his amazing ideas, this time adding custom layouts to people's posts. Of course weebs have to ruin this opportunity, or at least it seems that way because 90% of custom layouts are used for promoting who they think is the best anime girl, complete with near-nudity. In some cases they just have whatever random Mario character they're obsessed with. In fact, the thirst levels are so high now that there's a forum game solely for rating users' layouts. Overall, the only good thing about layouts is the "Disable layouts" button.

Defense of Pedophilia

The site has had its share of pedophilia related scandals in the past. Such examples include Leod, who was a former administrator and was banned for wanting nudes from an underage user, and at least one user who was banned for defending pedophilia and bashing trannies offsite. But recently, they've taken a hard stance on defending a specific Jap named Kusamochi who drew lolicon on his Twitter page, despite requests from several users over the past two years. And if that's not enough, the admins have started to ban these detractors for harassment and aggression towards staff. One former user even went as far as to write up a document exposing the hypocrisy and retarded defenses by the admins.

Drama

As with anywhere on the Internet, trolling and shit-talk in general is bound to happen. In this case, SMW Central is Tumblr: Mario Edition. Referred to as "Actual Shit," the General Discussion subforum contains politics and memes, usually both at the same time. When either are mentioned, it usually becomes a circlejerk that becomes a flame war that a butthurt moderator has to threaten everyone with a ban to end. Sometimes the mods themselves get involved with the flaming, too! But it's horribly wrong to make a meme of a level someone made because jokes and criticism is obviously harassment, and ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

Users on SMWC also tend to fight about other trivial shit such as post quality (as if you should expect that anywhere on the Internet) or shitty memes being better than other shitty memes. That's like fighting over Minecraft being better than Roblox. They also get super mad when you tell them you have an emulator preference, because if you don't strive for maximum accuracy you're actually evil.

How To Get Banned

• Have a different opinion.
• Call out bullshit.
• Expose sexual relations between admins and animals. Proof The unfunny cuckolds in charge decided to wipe this glorious bastard's name. It was originally "SNN Fucked a Monkey" which I suspect is probably true now since they're trying so hard to cover it up. Thankfully a kind anon archived the page already so the mods can't do anything.

• Have fun.

The Great 64-Ing

For some reason, SMW Central, your primary Super Mario World hacking resource, also has a section for Super Mario 64 hacking, which really should make SMW Central become SM Central if they're going to pull all the Mario cards (they actually have sections for Wii U hacking and Yoshi's Island hacking too, those inconsistent bastards). Well-known SM64 hackers known as Skelux and MrGreenThunder got A N G E R Y at the site and ultimately got rekt, but still successfully left a bad taste in everyone's mouths for somehow being even bigger shitstains than the inactive BRR Samples section. For some reason Green got unbanned but then he received the mods opening another can of whoopass on him for being a dick again. To this day everyone who's submitted a SM64 hack is either banned or has been inactive in fear of also being pwned.

The Twitter Takeover

For some years, trannies had been gaining power on the site. This came to widespread fruition when a Kaizo streamer on Twitch named Dode (short for Dodechehedron) was assblasted for the horrendous crime of putting a "transphobic" streamer named Svorass on his autohost list. He left the internet for two months, then made a return stream where he had banned many of the people who were shitting on him. People came to the conclusion that the people he had banned were banned for the reason of being LGBT or LGBT allies. A few days later, he was permanently banned from SMW Central and speedrun.com after a chick named MoniStreams made a Tweet where she lied about Dode sexually harassing and manipulating her. To this day, there exists a frequently updated list of people who are "problematic" who the largest SMW streamers are obligated to ban from their streams. Whether it's for watching or talking to "problematic" people, being "bigoted", being against political statements in Romhacks, or whatever madeup reason they come up with.

Collaborations

Just like schools and workplaces, SMWC has collaboration projects where everyone does fuck all, ultimately leading to an unfinished product being the final product. This behavior has clearly spread throughout the entire site, as there are over 3,700 work in progress threads yet only around 900 actual hacks have ever been released. However, there's one collab that sticks out like a sore thumb: JUMP, or "Janked Up Mario Party." It sounds like a name straight from the writers of Adventure Time, and it's just as overrated! Complete with overdoing it on difficulty and rabid white knights who defend it, this hack is perfect if you're a masochist. For maximum butthurt, you can use these strategies to piss off just about anybody.

• Compare JUMP's custom code to Brutal Mario
• Say the level design isn't even that good
• Bonus points if you talk about a well-known hacker like worldpeace
• Point out how JUMP had so many people working on it but not enough to make an original soundtrack

Caution is advised, because you will receive butthurt levels that weren't meant to be reached. There's also a chance that the mods will tell you something like this.
