Rabbit Proof Fence is a film based on a true story about two young Aborigine girls running away from an evil and scheming white man who in reality was deeply concerned when they went missing and searched desperately to find them. It's the sort of film loved by those who thought Boys Don't Cry was one hundred percent accurate and unbiased.
Australians Hate Historical Accuracy
It's a well documented fact that filmmakers from Australia generally have no regard for truth or accuracy, and as such glorious ex-pats have shat all over the facts in films like Braveheart, which was full of shit and starred Mel Gibson, and Gallipoli - utter bullshit which blamed the British for Australian fuck-ups, and also starred Mel Gibson. Seeing a trend here?
The truth of the matter is white people did lots of bad things to the indigenous population - things which were so much worse than condemning white people to a life of misery and enslavement in Australia for stealing a loaf of bread.
Rabbit Proof Fence's chief antagonist is historical figure A. O. Neville, the Chief Protector of Aboriginals in Western Australia, a man who was loved by the Aborigines he cared for, and was determined to preserve their arts, history and culture. The Aborigines burned with a deep and passionate hatred for this man, one so deep that when he died, they tried to troll his family by sending hundreds of letters of condolence and thanks for all his hard work.
Neville wrote a book titled Australia's Coloured Minority, in which he proved he was a racist who NEEDED TO BURN.
—That's right. Taking responsibility for your race's crimes and wanting to make things better makes you a RACIST DOUCHE. |
He should have tried to be more like the paragon of unracism, Abraham Lincoln:
—Honest Abe, hero of Black People everywhere. |
Trolling Rabbit Proof Fence Fans
Since denying that Aborigine children were sometimes taken from their parents is easily countered by historical evidence they were, you're better off suggesting that Rabbit Proof Fence might be slandering the reputation of a hero to the Aborigine people. Expect foot stamping and screaming lulz.
