Wrong Planet
Wrong Planet (or wrongplanet.net) is the largest asspie forum on the internets. Presumably a place where autists could collaborate on the latest great ideas and innovations, it is actually a butthurt place of autist supremacy. The founder, Alex Plank, has indoctrinated its members to believe that they are better than everyone else, even though half of them are unemployed and the other half are minimum-wage slaves. The front page usually consists of Plank and neurodiversity advocates John and Jack Robison bitching about how autism is "the shitz0rz11", when in reality, they are just weird but perfectly normal. However, the site's userbase is finding out that autism is a terrible thing and that the site's traffic has drastically fallen.
History
The site was started in 2004 by Dan Grover and Alex Plank. While an interesting idea to toy with, Neurodiversity was quickly becoming an overinflated trend. Pretty soon, Plank started asking for endless donashuns while assuring that Autism is greatness and genius, yet only put the same three or four people on the frontpage.
The Murderers of Wrong Planet
In the past, Wrong Planet has been known to encourage many asspies to commit murder.
William Freund
On October 29, 2005, a 19-year-old male by the name of William Freund donned a dark cape and a ski mask and went on a killing spree in his hometown, Aliso Viejo, California. Freund managed to shoot and kill two people before eventually killing himself. Before going on his murderous rampage, it has been reported that Freund had posted his plans for his killing spree on Wrong Planet. Another report shows that Freund posted on another forum; this time on the comedy site, Something Awful. Under the screen alias, forbiddenforum, he was asking other SA members information as to where he could purchase buckshot ammunition, and claimed that he was only going to use it against people who were vandalizing his halloween pumpkins. The thread has subsequently been closed by a site moderator approximately three days before the massacre.
Freund, having struggled with Assburgers, reached out to the internet for sympathy. He wrote more than two dozen online messages in October of 2005 on various messageboards and forums. These messages ranged from him asking for a "real life friend" to contemplating suicide and starting a "terror campaign", where he stated that he was "...going to kill [the] people who [have] wronged in the past." His messages were not taken seriously, of course, and only portrayed him as an internet tough guy with a severe case of USI. On Friday, October 28th 2005, some of the volunteer moderators of WP tried to locate his parents, but to no avail. The next morning, Freund began his killing spree when he entered a neighbouring house and shot Christina Smith (22), and her father, Vernon Smith (45) at point-blank range. After these murders, he attempted to shoot at a house across the street, but his shotgun jammed and didn't fire any more shells. Freund then walked home, cleaned out his shotgun, and committed suicide by shooting himself in the torso.
During the investigation, a spokesman representing the Orange County sheriff's department, Jim Amormino, said that the investigators could not find out what sparked this killing spree to happen in the first place. The autopsy report confirmed that Freund wasn't intoxicated at the time of the killings and the investigation took a turn towards Freund's online messages on WP, and some other sites, claiming that he was planning a killing spree, as well as planning to kill himself. The police looked into his messages, and realized that it was his severe case of Assburgers that had caused him to commit these crimes.
Hans Peterson
In 2002, a man by the name of Hans Peterson was accused of stabbing and killing his psychiatrist, Dr. David Cornbleet. According to the story, Peterson was suffering from depression and went to Dr. Cornbleet for monthly check-ups. Cornbleet had prescribed depression pills for Peterson to try and balance out his depression symptoms. The pills turned out to have a number of negative side-effects, including worsening the depression and causing suicidal thoughts and/or actions. Although he never attempted to commit suicide, Peterson, after having been through a lot of ups and downs up to this point, gained the mindset that it was all Dr. Cornbleet's fault that he was so severely depressed and used him as a scapegoat for his conditions. Peterson decided that he would murder Dr. Cornbleet the next time he saw him, and stabbed him multiple times throughout his body. Peterson made a hasty getaway and Cornbleet's body was found hours later on the floor of his office by his colleagues, completely mutilated and covered in blood.
In the Dateline episode, Appointment for Murder, it is reported that Peterson could not be tried for his crimes because he lived in the French Riviera, where US state laws couldn't do shit, so he managed to rise above the law for a long period of time. The US laws could only take effect if Peterson was within US boundaries, meaning that he would have to return to the US to be tried in a court of law. Although Peterson never did return to the US (as far as we know), he was eventually tried in a French court; however, his sentence was reduced, since the laws between the US and French government differ so drastrically. Peterson's current status is unknown, and no futher statements have been conveyed with regards to his sentencing.
Cephalopod
Another member named "Cephalopod" indicated that he might go out and shoot and murder as many neurotypicals as he could. After being reported to the FBI, he was apparently interviewed by authorities in Switzerland where he apparently resided. Needless to say, he was not banned.
Sadaspy (Possibly)
This member exemplified everything that was wrong with Wrong Planet and neurodiversity. He thought he was a genius because he had a Master's degree in political science with a 3.7 GPA, yet was 27 and unemployed. He spent his time ranting about how women were dumb bitches that couldn't see his GPA. Because yes, this is what being a politician is all about.
Needless to say, Wrong Planet encouraged him to die alone because by their reasoning, he was too smart for anyone.
Autism Talk TV
Autism Talk TV was a series founded by Alex Plank and Jack Robison. Basically, they got paid lots of money to go around the country talking to various people. The series was funded by Autism Speaks, which some WP members took issue with. However, Plank probably realized at this point that autism got him nowhere in life. The series ended in 2011. (Not making enough greenbacks?)
