I've fixed the thumbnail generator, unfortunately, it fucked up on all the existing thumbnails. So what you're going to have to do is regenerate the thumbnails manually. Here's a guide on how to do so.

1. Go to the page that has the image http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/File:Scootalootony.gif and append ?action=purge to the url and hit enter. (It should take a while to load, that means its rebuilding)
~~2. Look at the thumbnail on the page. If its still a box or gives an error, that's okay. Right click on it and click "Open Image in New Tab"~~
3. Then append a question mark and some gibberish to the url. http://images.encyclopediadramatica.ch/thumb/0/08/Scootalootony.gif/120px-Scootalootony.gif turns into http://images.encyclopediadramatica.ch/thumb/0/08/Scootalootony.gif/120px-Scootalootony.gif?abasdfa
4. Hit enter. If the thumbnail is there and working, it means that MediaWiki successfully regenerated the thumbnail (and any other thumbnails of that image that are embedded into pages at various sizes, etc...).
~~5. It'll take anywhere from an hour to a day for the regular thumbnail to get cleared from our loadbalancer / cloudflare caches and then people will be able to see the animated gif thumbnails again.~~

Nevermind. I've just deleted all the thumbnails of broken gifs. They should automatically rebuild.

When filling out meta settings, is a blank description defaulted to the first paragraph, or should I be intentionally be adding a sentence or two regardless of content? Autoblocks not working correctly

I have made a few blocks recently that seem to be affecting other users as well. I just did a test where I blocked myself and then logged out and attempted to edit. Aside from the usual login to edit message I get an autoblock message quoting an IP address that is not mine (the IP is 10.8.69.10) and I have had complaints from other users regarding they are unable to edit due to autoblocks on the same IP address. 500 Internal Server Error and ED down

Hello. The internal server error, which you aren't aware, was always happen every time I made another edits, causing this site (which is Encyclopedia Dramatica), as well as your forums, to go down. I have made some creation of categories and templates (e.g. Category:Archival templates, Template:Discussion bottom, Template:Discussion top, Template:Hidden archive bottom, Template:Hidden archive top and Category:Contents), focusing on restructuring category structure to differentiate between ED Administration and articles related to ED itself, as well as making new templates in a stream-lined manner. The reason I am posting here is that the internal server error always persistent, and the site keeps on being taken down. Can you find a way to resolve this and at least prevent it from happening? Hello, I'd like to request an extension that can enable the <references/> tag to be used in many pages. This is because editors like us wanted to cite moar in ALL articles, and we wanted to avoid scrolling lists. We seem to have an update delay problem

When going to certain pages (especially those frequently updated like an active talk page), I've noticed there is delay in the page updating for the newest edits. Purging the page cache fixes the problem instantly, and it's getting to be very frequent that I have to do that to get pages to update normally sometimes.

Not sure what the problem is, though I'm guessing ED could be getting high server load, which in turn is causing page updates to hiccup.

The wiki can't display some files (gifs mostly, like this one for example. You might have to flush cache to see it) that are over 1mb. The max upload size is 2mb, it would be optimal if the site could display everything that is able to be uploaded to it. Making an EDF2 account

When I put in my email address/name,to make an EDF2 account, it always takes me to "500 - internal server error". HALP!

Some recommendations for upgrading ED

Since I'm a lowly sysop now, I just thought I'd stop by and make a few suggestions like the USI riddled EDiot I now am.

Anyway, we could probably stand to upgrade ED. According to this, a lot of the stuff we have is really outdated, and based on my observations, I'd say we're still on MW 1.16, which is really obsolete now, and if for no other reason than compatibility and security fixes, we could stand to upgrade to 1.19 if nothing else.

Also had a weird incident a few days ago where I accidentally clicked the Firefox extension Pinger (checks all links on a page to see if they're dead or not, useful for wikis and video sites to see if things were deleted), and it apparently triggered some weird security hole that made a lot of edits I know I didn't make and which hammered ED with a shit ton of HTTP requests, and since I've used it on more modern versions of MW and that doesn't happen, that strikes me as a security hole we really need to fix with an upgrade. We've been getting a ton of page timeout issues
