Schadenfreude

Noun: Proper word to describe the joy that a Lolcow brings to a person observing their foolish antics.

The word originates from the German expression Freude von einem sich selbst zu schaden or "The joy any sane person arrives at from observing a person humiliate themselves for another's attention".
Originally, the expression was applied to clowns, comedians, actors and other merry makers who would make attempts at comedy by violating or pretending to be ignorant of social norms such as walking around in public with an obvious erection, Pygmalionism or rather the having sexual relations with dolls and statues, or even one voiding their bowels in public among other things.
Over the years, the expression "Freude von einem sich selbst zu schaden," was simply shortened to Schadenfreude or quite literally, "Pain's Joy".
