Judge Rotenberg Center

From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Jump to navigation Jump to search

There are very few things Encyclopædia Dramatica endorses. Schools are at the bottom of the list, and autists certainly rank among the lower levels of the genetic pool. However, when you combine the two you can get such lulzy results and delicious drama, we don't have a choice.

The Judge Rotenberg Center is a school for retards in Massachusetts. It's not just your run of the mill drooling on themselves idiots they accept into their stellar programs, but basically anybody with any mental learning handicap and $200,000 (more is preferable) including those with autism, Assburger's and Down's Syndrome. Formerly a research institute, they have shown such aptitude for showing the retards who's boss, people started paying them to whip some some sense into their ill-bred with such innovative scientific techniques as prolonged restraint, paddling, and shocking the crap out of their students.

Electric Therapy

Doing even a better job than ED is, one of their most famous techniques to keep autism off the internet is electric shock. They shock students for bad behavior, drawing Sonic recolors, blowing snot bubbles, and pissing themselves two hours after asking to go to the bathroom. After numerous IRL Internet lawsuits, the center got the State of Massachusetts to ban the procedure altogether and even the [UN] to intervene and issue an appeal to the United States on something or other about torture, but not without first getting to fry the shit out of a few autists. The worst of these are made to carry around the gear on their backs and have it attached 24 hours a day so that emergency shocks can be administered for the lulz in the middle of the night to see who can make the children piss the farthest. The lesser are given only temporary treatment when they are tied to a table and shocked and/or bukakked.

One of the more notable students is Andre McCollins, who was tied to a table and shocked 31 times over 6 hours for not taking off his jacket. The court system initially sealed the video above in 2002 when his mother first sued and prevented from being used as evidence by somebody who obviously has no sense of humor until later it was unsealed by a higher court. After the old media got a hold of it, his mother settled on the terms that while he's not really a person, the then 18-year-old broken condom was her and her brother/lover's property and the acute stress response the shock caused was damage to it.

Rather than shocking students for only severe behaviors, JRC also shocks students for minor behaviors, such as closing eyes for 15 seconds while sitting at the desk, pulling apart a loose piece of thread, tearing an empty used paper cup, going to the bathroom in one’s clothes after signing that they need to use the bathroom for over two hours, standing up and raising a hand to ask to go to the bathroom, blowing small bubbles in saliva between one’s lips, and shocking a non-verbal nearly blind girl with cerebral palsy for making a moaning sound and for attempts to hold a staff’s hand (her attempts to communicate and to be loved).
