Into The Trash It Goes! is a phrase that was popularized on 4chan's /pol/ board in early 2013. A picture of Penn Jillette is often included with responses that use the phrase which it used to imply someone doesn't know what they are talking about.

Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller are professional illusionists, that's another way of saying they're homosexuals. The two have been performing since the late 1970's, are on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and like almost celebrities, think that people care about their opinions. While both promote atheism and libertarianism every chance they get, Penn Jillette is the most militant of the two.

Possibly it's because of his Christian father who was extremely controlling, or that he got his butt kicked on the playground each day for having a gay sounding last name, either way, he never got over it. These days the phrase "Into the trash it goes!" applies when he opens his God hating mouth, or when he writes, "There is no God." on his autographs, definite signs that he isn't holding any grudges. And besides, we know that his fans are interested in what he thinks, and care nothing about his performances on stage.

Usage

Once the phrase established itself throughout 4chan, it use began to catch on elsewhere on the internet. Those who wish to see the phrase in action are encouraged to start a thread on /v/ and praise Microsoft's Xbox, be sure to argue with anyone who disagrees. Elsewhere the phrase can be spotted in the wild, possibly a forum where everyone isn't ignorant. If somebody there responds with "Into the trash it goes!" and a picture of Penn Jillette, you might wish to ask if you know whats you're talking about, and if everyone is doing this, it's time to lurk more or GTFO.
