This is about a shell in computer science. If you are looking for one of the components of shells and cheese, you will not find it here, retard.

A shell on a computer allows the end user to communicate with the kernel of the computer, and in some operating systems, the devil. There are two known types of shells, graphical (i.e. Windows) and command-line (i.e. UNIX). The difference between the two is that graphical shells tend to fuck up alot and BSOD quite a bit, while command-line style allows you to totally fuck up your system beyond repair. This shit is so complex Bill Gates decided to dump it for a graphical-based interface. The one you are using right now, unless you aren't on a PC. Naw, you can still use command.com, which is not a fucking website you idiot.

Here is a list of different shells:

UNIX Shells:

  • sh
  • bsh
  • csh
  • ksh
  • bash
  • zsh
  • sfdl;jaajs;ldfal;ekb

Windows Shells:

  • PowerShell
  • Explorer (they call the GUI a "shell" in windows-speak for some reason.)

Basic Info

In the beginning computers got their input from different means, such as throwing switches, paper tapes, or punch cards. After a while the natural idea of adding a typewriter was added to make input easier. This gave raise to the need for software to handle input processing. Unfortunately, it led to the creation of the shell. The shell is a device that allows access to the operating system, and thus, makes it really easy to fuck up your computer while showing off to your 1337 friends how much of a hacker you are. To make the shell work at its best, always run it in root. The most common shell is bash,a GNU version of the old unix sh. Bash is what you most likely use if you run a linux box. In a Windows machine, the GUI is the shell, and most things such as handling files are done there. All in all, run minix.
