Maybe you want to upload gore videos to your favorite social media site, but the fascist censorship drones in charge keeps deleting them and banning your accounts? Or maybe you just want to share your hilarious, edgy Ronnie McNutt memes and Christchurch edits, but the same thing keeps happening? Maybe your a curious little timmy who just wants to see what a dead person looks like? Or maybe you're just a sick fuck who jerks off to the idea of traumatizing kids on the internet? The obvious solution to most of these questions would be to do some searching on other places than the same, single social media platform that you're hooked on 24/7 you zoomer twat; Telegram, Vidlii, Dailymotion, Bitchute, or Encyclopedia Dramatica (join EDF now fgt!) might suffice. Nevertheless, internet denizens with platform loyalty have came up with a workaround for this problem!

A trend which seemingly sprouted out of TikTok in the December of 2024, some users have begun putting goofy AI filters, namely ones which replace the contents of the video with Minions from the Despicable Me franchise. This sneaky strategy more or less passes TikTok's graphic content filter. A majority, or at least a very significant amount of these videos appear to have been produced and published by Russian kids, which makes sense given the deranged humor that the Russian youth have. Given the timing of the rise of this trend, numerous Christmas-themed gore edits have also been made. Common visuals and tropes within these Minion AI Shock Videos include:

  • EVERYTHING is turned into a minion. The people are minions, the guns are uniquely minion-themed paraphernalia, their clothes are minions, the environment and infrastructure are replaced with random, goofy minion onlookers dementedly smiling at the events unfolding in front of them, and just about anything else is clad in minion-brand denim.
  • In typical AI fashion, however, the videos are usually shit and filled to the brim with unusual graphics and ever-changing subjects that morph their shapes constantly.
  • A lack of any actual blood, gore, or mushy, mangled body parts; nevertheless babbies will still act genuinely shocked by these.
  • Though the visuals are changed, the audio is usually intact.

Because minions are silly and curious creatures by nature, they can often be seen getting themselves into precarious, slapstick situations.

Why?

Because it's funny lol.

How?

TikTokers began using the AI program Runway to replace themselves with minions and soon after people began using it to generate lulz. It wasn't long before content creators across the internet began to voice their outrage at this, so Runway very likely will try to implement bans on Minion content attempted to be produced from their platform.
