—Kate, every other day.

Kate Leth is a horrible ham beast comic writer. Cut from the same mold as writers like Sara Due McCormic, Noelle Stevenson, and Jess Fink, in that she’s a narcissistic attention whore who owes her entire career to Tumblr.

Kate or Die

Kate spawned as a clerk in the Nova Scotia comic book shop Strange Adventures. She posted comics on her site Kate or Die that amounted to no more than the cute scribblings mom would stick on the refrigerator, albeit with a lot more whiney self-absorption. For reasons that remain elusive, these inane doodles were deemed good enough for the pussy hungry geeks at Comic Alliance to give her a regular feature. From there, she climbed the ladder, getting writing gigs for Kaboom Studios on nostalgia/autistic fare like Adventure Time and Fraggle Rock and Edward Scissorhands for IDW. Finally, she graduated to writing for Marvel for titles like Hellcat.

Kate's earlier works. You can see why comic companies were eager to hire her.

Most of this would be unremarkable since it’s a given that any gash who slobs herself out on twitter will be given a job in comics nowadays, and Kate is definitely no stranger to twitter, writing more nonstop texts in a day then she probably writes comic scripts in a year. Because we need DUH-VERSITY, and teenage boys have abandoned comic books for easier to obtain online porn, publishers now grab any broad with a reputation that they can in hopes of separating tumblr girls from their cake money.

Making light of rape is never okay. Setting people on fire, that's fucking funny!

What makes Kate-or-Diet especially comical is the gaping hypocritical gulf between everything she says and does. It’d be easier to believe that there are two seperate people named Kate Leth who keep mixing up their tweets than to compute how a single person can be so blatantly two-faced and lack any self-awareness. She complains non-stop about how hard it is for women in the industry, but then complains about people who ask her about being a women in the industry (not to mention the record speed in which she rose in the industry). She cries about oppression and prejudice, then make tweet after tweet about how awful white men are. She claims to be bi/queer/whatever but is only known to have dated two white men (while tweeting how awful white men are). She cries about objectification when she’s not making sexual jokes or posting pics of some someone’s abs or ass. She talks about what a strong, powerful feminist she is when she’s not posting about all her anxieties and insecurities and about how she cuts herself. She blathers about her work-outs and how fit she’s getting until she tires of that and then pushes fat acceptance.

Kate doesn't want to hear about sexy women, even though she's, like, totally queer you know.

We could go on and on (she certainly does), but the bottom line is that Kate is a phony who will say or do anything she can to keep people interested in her. This is evident in the repeated times she erases all her texts and locks her twitter when contradictions begin to pile up, then she unlocks it and starts all over because she needs a steady stream of attention. This will be a process that repeats forever since she has the emotional maturity of a teenager with no impulse control and a constant need for validation. As she is fast approaching thirty, a train wreck is certainly on the horizon and the results aren’t going to be pretty.

"No, I didn't say anything in a drunken rage. Why do you ask?"

The Valkyries

In another bid for devotion, Kate launched the Valkyries, a collection of similar attention starved trolls who work a comic stores and talk about how guy nerds are such misogynist creeps and how this one time-a guy wouldn’t buy his daughter a comic because he said “girls don’t read” comics-but I gave her comics for free anyway and now she’s president- and this all totally happened-for reals.

Stampeding to an IHOP near you.

Beyond gathering and posing for photos to show their solidarity (and how wide a room has to be to encompass them), there doesn’t seem to be much point. Not surprisingly, reports from those who were part of it indicate that it eventually devolved into a collection of tumblrites trying to outwhine each other over who is triggered more. Kate certainly hasn’t helped any of them get jobs in the industry or leave the crappy confines for retail for more artistic pursuits. In fact, Kate’s Valkyries project seems to exist mostly so that there are a large group of people who are there for HER. She has referred to them as her “army” on more than one occasion and aside for being a giant hugbox for them to blubber into, most of Kate’s concerns for it amount to there being something for people to remember KATE by, because that’s the important thing.

Kate’s Kunt Kauses Kancer

Kate’s biggest contribution to feminism was no doubt when she helped a married man cheat on his wife. During one of her many many drunken escapades, she blurted out info about dating a married man who later died of cancer. While she quickly tried to purge this info, eagle eyes snapped the screenshots, and it didn’t take long for internet sleuths to piece together the mystery man as father of three, Kirk MacLeod. Did having sex with Kate actually rot the guy from the inside out, or was he killed by a vindictive wife who couldn’t handle that he cheated on her with something like this? The world may never know.

Definitely worth tossing away a family.

Tips for trolling Kate:

Hard to say. She loves the attention. Even insulting her is giving her validation, but if you want to pick on some sore spots: Ask her if she slept with any married men lately. Insist that she really isn’t Bi, but just a boring straight girl (and a skank at that) Insist that she’s not a real geek girl since all of her writing revolves around superheroes doing shit like hanging out and dating as opposed to doing super hero stuff. It’s true, but she doesn’t want her followers to know this. Tell her she hasn’t cut herself enough because her head is still attached.
