THIS ANNOUNCEMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE GNAA

Master Chief awakens to find the Forward Unto Dawn boarded by numerous Covenant that are in search of Requiem in order to find a Forerunner Weapon Cache. They are also hoping that the Requiem is the place where a living god is currently being held and it is their desire to obtain his help in their fight against humanity.

The game's main antagonist is Didact who is an ancient Forerunner and is the one that the Convenant believes is the god.

Dr. Halsey and wants Chief to help her find a solution to Cortana's problem. At the climax of the game, Cortana joins Master Chief in a battle with Didact. 

Didact: "Compassion for mankind is misplaced."
Chief: "I'm not doing this for mankind."
"Chief then charges at Didact. Didact is attacked by Cortana. He attempts to swat at Cortana as a means of self defense. Didact unclenches his fist and drops Chief."

Cortana dies at the end of the game.
