List of suggested configuration changes (note: I don't have any experience with reconfiguring a wiki).

User rights

• suppressredirect (add to sysop and possibly Editors, for reverting page-move vandalism without leaving a redirect behind)
• mw:Manual:RevisionDelete (for dealing with revisions with sensitive information)

Configuration

• mw:Manual:$wgNamespacesWithSubpages (we need to enable subpages for the main namespace since it isn't enabled by default)
• mw:Manual:Using_custom_namespaces (need to create a Portal namespace so Portal page won't be considered articles anymore)
  • See mw:Manual:Using_custom_namespaces#Dealing_with_existing_pages in order to avoid conflicts.
• mw:Manual:$wgEnableMWSuggest (set to true, some users wanted this feature)
• mw:Manual:$wgNamespaceAliases (no need to create ED:Whatever redirects)
