'''Dustborn''' is a 2024 action-adventure game, set in a dystopian future version of America. It was created by Red Thread Games, which fucking SHUT DOWN not long after its release. ''Oh boo-hoo-hoo.'' It came out on the exact same day as the highly-anticipated ''Black Myth: Wukong'' which kicked DustBorn’s ass in basically every way. The creators of the game marketed it towards a “modern audience”, which… *news flash* doesn’t fucking exist. On its literal launch day, it couldn’t even hit 100 simultaneous players on [[Steam]], while ''Wukong'', which on that same day MILLIONS were playing at once. And gamers have been kekking about Dustborn’s flop ever since.

It is well know that this game was funded using Norwegian tax money. Many a Norwegian shits his pants knowing that THiS is what his money went into.

The high-mucky-mucks who reviewed this game gave it relatively high reviews, despite clearly having very little good things to say about it. Everyone else gave the games a bunch of 1/10s and 2/10s, while Red Thread screamed for help against the “trolls”.

Dustborn is a 2024 action-adventure game, set in a dystopian future version of America. It was created by Red Thread Games, which fucking SHUT DOWN not long after its release. Oh boo-hoo-hoo. It came out on the exact same day as the highly-anticipated Black Myth: Wukong which kicked DustBorn’s ass in basically every way. The creators of the game marketed it towards a “modern audience”, which… *news flash* doesn’t fucking exist. On its literal launch day, it couldn’t even hit 100 simultaneous players on Steam, while Wukong, which on that same day MILLIONS were playing at once. And gamers have been kekking about Dustborn’s flop ever since. It is well know that this game was funded using Norwegian tax money. Many a Norwegian shits his pants knowing that THiS is what his money went into.

The "modern audience"

Dustborn couldn’t hit 100 players, even at its launch! And I’d bet that at least half of its playerbase are either people who worked on the game or people who shit on the game on YouTube. This "modern audience" seems to consist of a whatever the left wing equivalent of Q and the alt right are… the kind of people who bring down the reputation of the moderates. The game’s message is very much stuck in 2016… you even enter into the “American Republic” through a gate in a border wall at the start (I believe.) The main antagonist of DustBorn seems to be John F. Kennedy himself… apparently the game’s creators have some serious beef with Kennedy somehow… what? Just looking at the four main characters, you can already tell that Red Thread cared more about filling out a diversity quota than making an actual good game.

Gameplay.

There are several shitty knockoff “Guitar Hero” sections in the game, such as a painfully cringey song including the lyrics “We’re the new porn”. And as everyone knows, cheap sex “jokes” are a common symptom of “wokely tame” developers trying to be edgy. And that isn’t even the worst part. With the damn “Guitar Hero” notes coming in from four different directions, you can barely tell what’s going on. This is not a good kind of difficulty, it’s barely even difficulty anyway. It’s just bad game design. The rest of the game is, as far as I can see, five bastards talking in a car for several hours. And yes, there is a “trigger button” in this game, leading so many people, left and right, to say that this game looks like a /pol/tard shitpost.
