On June 2012, David Thorpe and Jon Hendren of Something Awful started a campaign to #ExilePitbull to the most remote Walmart in America: Walmart #2711 in Kodiak Island, near the Alaskan coast.
Campaign
Walmart and Sheets Brand energy strips launched a campaign to bring the artist Pitbull to whichever local Walmart store that gains the most Facebook likes between June and July. David Thorpe and Jon Hendren started publishing "#ExilePitbull" hashtags on Something Awful forums to make sure the users from SA like Kodiaks Walmart store on Failbook, then all their tweets included the hashtag too to make sure their faggot followers vote too. Then the ball passed to Reddit, which gave thousands of likes to Kodiak store. The local residents from Kodiak also published photos inviting Pitbull to go there:
A week before the campaign ended Pitbull already knew that he was going to Kodiak and he took it with humor, he was going to go to whatever place the fans wanted him to go, even if he knew it was a prank. He also invited David Thorpe to go with him, thing that happened.
