Internet Success is the failure millions witness in public OTI when a website goes mainstream. Popular examples of internet success are social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as every other shithole you pass off as popular. The horrible amounts of fail associated with this phenomenon do not necessarily lie in the retarded preliminary designs they once hailed as original, nor does it pertain to the immense amount of spam it took to reach such a status.
No, the most common trait all these places share is the response their owner provides when asked, "did you ever plan on this website succeeding?"

Reasoning
It's a commonly known fact that people who brag about their success on the internet of all places have a lot to hide. So as a figurehead with a lot of PR at stake, it's not appropriate to reveal to the world what a useless basement-dweller you truly were throughout the process of shedding light on your little pipe dreams of ruling the internet.
So let's just lie about it instead.
