Deathrocker / Daddy Kindsoul
In 2005, Yorkshirian started his or her Wikipedia career as "Deathnocker". The account was mainly active on articles about heavy metal. Deathrockers failed to get along with others and developed a massive block log for edit warring. In 2006, Deathrockers became the focus for an ArbCom case and ended up with revert restrictions. Deathrocker failed to follow the restrictions.
In 2007, Deathrocker become "Daddy Kindsoul". Deathrocker requested the name change because "[he or she] wish[ed] to have a name which is more representative of [his or her] personality and reflective of [her or her] lifestyle." Daddy Kindsoul was now heavily involved in articles related to Italian football.
SalvoCalcio / CalcioSalvo
Despite the change in name and focus, Daddy Kindsoul continued to edit war, and on June 22, 2007, he or she became blocked for a month. Daddy Kindsoul didn't seek to fairly serve out his or sentence, so he or she evaded his block by creating the "SalvoCalcio" account. SalvoCalcio initially worked on articles related to Italian football but later became focused on articles related to Yorkshire and Robin Hood. By July 23rd, Daddy Kindsoul's block existed, so Daddy Kindsoul logged out of his SalvoCalcio account, logged into his Daddy Soulsoul, and began editing as "Daddy Kindsoul" again.
Although Daddy Kindsoul can now edit with his opr her proper account now, he or she wanted to continue using his or her CalcioSalvo sockpuppet account; however, when Daddy Kindsoul tried to log back in as "CalcioSalvo", he or she found that he or she had forgotten the password (Daddy Kindsoul deleted the cookie for the CalcioSalvo when he log out in of the "CalcioSalvo" account order to log into the "Daddy Kindsoul" account). As a result, on the same day Daddy Kindsoul began editing again, Daddy Kindsoul created the "CalcioSalvo" account. By now, Daddy Kindsoul began to give his or her accounts different roles: Daddy Kindsoul would edit articles on Italian football while CalcioSalvo would edit articles related to Yorkshire and Robin Hood.
The end of Daddy Kindsoul
In September 2007, Yamla blocked Daddy for a year. Several hours after the Daddy Kindsoul account was blocked, Kindsoul created his or her "Soprani" account (thus continuing the tradition of Italian usernames that started with SalvoCalcio's creation). The Soprani continued from where the Daddy Kindsoul account left off, which made catching the sockpuppetry easy. Yamla blocked Soprani, and Daddy Kindsoul responded by creating more sockpuppets and harassing Yamla.
Early Yorkshirian
A couple of days after the initial block of the Soprani account, Daddy Kindsoul created the "Yorkshirian" account. Initially, Yorkshirian worked mainly on articles related to British history and Roman Catholicism.
By January 2008, it was evident that Yorkshirian had trouble playing nice with others. During that month, Yorkshirian began clashing with MRSC, Jza84, and others over the "Yorkshire" article; thus starting the animosities that'll eventually led to another ArbCom case.
As a Roman Catholic and a Brit, Yorkshirian became involved in Wikipedia's article on Guy Fawkes. Yorkshirian sought to keep the "In popular culture" section of the article short. Given the Guy Fawkes fandom after the release of the V for Vendetta film, Yorkshirian was walking into a losing battle. On February 11, 2008, photographer David Shankbone added a photograph of an anti-Scientology protester to the article, and Yorkshirian would have none of that and removed references to Project Chanology from the article as well. This led to an edit war, a 24-hour block, more edit warring, an ANI thread, and finally, a 48-hour block.
Road to arbitration
Early April 2008, Jza84 reported Yorkshirian's string of edit warrring on the 3RR noticeboard, but this didn't deter Yorshirian from misbehaving. Early next month, Jza84 once again reported Yorkshirian's misconduct on a noticeboard, and when that discussion failed to settle things, MRSC started a RfC/U discussion on Yorkshirian. By May 8th, activity on the RfC/U discussion more or less ceased. Despite threads on two dramaboards and RfC/U, Wikipedia's sysops failed to do anything about Yorshirian, which allowed the animosities and conflict to escalate.
In early May, Harkey Lodger discovered Yorkshirian's connection to the "SalvoCalcio" and the "CalcioSalvo" accounts based on similar mannerisms and started an sockpuppetry investigation. Yorkshirian admitted that the SalvoCalcio and CalcioSalvo belonged to him or her but claimed that he created that Yorkshirian account was created due to losing the password to the CalcioSalvo account. Unfortunately, the Wikipedians didn't yet learn of Yorkshirian's connection to Daddy Kindsoul and allowed Yorkshirian off the hook.
In mid-May 2008, Jza84 was nominated to receive sysop rights, and Yorkshirian was one of the few people who opposed the nomination. Unfortunately, Yorkshirian's whining failed to prevent Jza86 from becoming a sysop.
Arbitration
Since the sysops failed to do anything about Yorkshirian in April and May, KieferSkunk, who offered an outside view in the May RfC/U discussion, requested ArbCom's intervention on June 25th.
Late June 26th, Ddstretch warned Yorkshirian not to make any more personal attacks. Yorkshirian responded by claiming that Ddstretch and Jza84 were conspiring against him or her. Ddstretch responded by blocking Yorkshirian. Viridae denied Yorkshirian's first two unblock requests ([1], [2]), but Sam Blacketer unblocked Yorkshirian under the condition that Yorkshirian stops messing with articles on counties and avoids interacting with his or her rivals.
By mid-July 2008, ArbCom found that:
Yorkshirian has engaged in a variety of unseemly conduct, including personal attacks, incivility and assumptions of bad faith ([3], [4]); edit-warring ([5], [6], [7], [8], [9]); and attempts to use Wikipedia as a battleground along geographical, cultural, and ideological lines ([10], [11], [12], [13]).
They then banned Yorkshirian from Wikipedia for a year.
Animagentile / Gennarous
As stated towards the end of the "SalvoCalcio / CalcioSalvo" section of the article, Daddy Kindsoul / Yorkshirian assigned different roles to his various accounts, and Yorkshirian continued to create and operate such accounts after the banning of the Daddy Kindsoul account. Some accounts edited football-related articles, other accounts edited heavy metal articles, the Yorkshirian account was used for articles related to Yorkshire and British history, and then there's the account used for articles related to fascism: Gennarous, which was initially known as "Animagentile".
Yorkshirian created the "Animagentile" account in November 2007. He initially used the account to work on articles related to Italian history, but by late December 2007, Animagentile was revising the article on Mussolini's granddaughter. Gennerous has the following to say about Alessandra Mussolini:
I'm intrigued by women with good looks and fortitude so you may see me edit articles such as Brigitte Bardot and Alessandra Mussolini. Beauty and brains, perfect combo.
Animagentile soon became one of female Mussolini's fiercest protectors and began labeling anyone who dared defile female Mussolini's image as as "communist trolls". Animagentile also began revising the article on granddad Mussolini.
In February 2008, Animagentile had his or her username changed to "Gennarous" since "Gentile" was allegedly his or her real surname.
In April 2008, Gennarous' behavior and history of insulting others earned him or her an ANI thread and a block.
In June 2008, Gennarous began revising Wikipedia's articles on Fascism and Nazism. That month, Esimal added some anti-Christian material to the "Nazism" article, and Gennarous, a devout Roman Catholic, became deeply offended and removed the material. This transformed into an edit war, and Generaous attempted to use WikiProject Christianity as his personal army. At the height of the edit war, Esimal attempted to have Rodhullandemu intervene. Rodhullandemu responded by protecting the article and warning Gennarous and Esimal to knock it off.
Gennarous vs Cberlet
On June 20, 2008, Gennarous began arguing with and attacking Chip Berlet. By July 4th, Gennarous was editing warring with Berlet, and Rodhullandemu had to step in and protect the article. After the protection expired, Gennarous reverted the article back to his preferred version and rewrote the article without discussion. Rodhullandemu responded by blocking Gennarous for two days.
By July 14th, Gennarous' block had expired, and he or she once again started attacking Chip Berlet and even accused "Bobisbob" of being Berlet's sockpuppet. Rodhullandemu then blocked Gennarous for an entire week.
On July 24th, Gennarous added the following message to his userpage:
I believe that Wikipedia can be a grand tool, because it helps inform people about the great cultures of the world and the rich history of this little planet we all call home. In the sanitised, anti-cultural, pro-ignorance age, the proof of existence of cultures is essential. The only problem with Wikipedia is when subversives try to infiltrate the system, acting as a turd in the punch bowl of our Wikipedia experience. For example there is a huge problem with EU Federalist perverts manipulating Wikipedia information in the hopes of "inventing" their fantasy faceless empire. Ókhi!
Sockpuppet purge
Early August 2008, Thatcher and Knepflerle were investigating a sockpuppeteer that revised Malta-related articles, and Knepflerle bought an account known as Cradashj to Thatcher's attention. After some investigation and use of the CheckUser tool, Thatcher uncovered Yorkshirian's network of sockpuppets, including Gennarous, and Ultraexactzz blocked them all.
Commons
Yorkshirian would continue to create sockpuppets on Wikipedia, but he or she also began to spend more time and effort at the Wikimedia Commons. Yorkshirian had been a Commons user since his or her Deathrocker days, and he or she contributed there as "Yorkshirian" and as "Gennarous". After these account were banned on the English Wikipedia, Yorkshirian created "Thomas Gun". In late August 2008, Jza84 tried and failed to have Thomas Gun banned from Commons. Since Commons doesn't have articles to edit war and argue over, Thomas Gun an able to avoid trouble and a block.
Yorkshirian's return and final ban
In July 2009, after two failed attempts to have his or her ban overturned earlier that year, Yorkshirian was unbanned. By August, Yorkshirian was once again making claims of a vast Communist conspiracy, and by September, Yorkshiran was once again the focus of an ANI thread and briefly blocked.
In July 2009, Yorkshirian began to edit the "British National Pary. In November 2009, he or she voted to keep the "Labour Party immigration scandal" article, the "Mass killings under Communist regimes" article, and the Nazi userbox.
In January 2010, Yorkshirian increased his or her involvement in the "British National Party" article substantially. By the 19th, Yorkshirian was edit warring with others. In early February, there was more edit warring, and Snowded issued a warning to Yorkshirian. Yorkshirian dismissed the warning and left a condescending comment on Snowden's talk page. When Snowden gave Yorkshirian an ultimatum, Yorkshirian decided to strike first by starting a ANI thread before Snowded. Ultimately, no one sided with Yorkshirian, and a sysop issued a fresh, new warning to Yorkshirian. Afterwards, Yorkshirian made feeble, petty attempts at revenge against Snowded by belittling Snowded's Welsh ancestry: [14], [15].
In March 2010, Yorkshirian rewrote the introduction of the BNP article without consensus, which initiated an edit war with Snowded. The article had to be protected twice before the edit warring ceased. During the conflict, Yorkshirian apparently attempted to out an user (most likely "The_Four_Deuces").
On March 18th, one final ANI thread was created on Yorkshirian, and consensus was obtained to ban Yorkshirian from Wikipedia for good.
