You knew the trees
you called them by name
Ever changing, yet always the same
Sunset Junction(?)
I saw you walking along
I thought "I gotta go do this and reach to meet this man"
Seize the day, or lose the opportunity
I said "Hello"
You walked along talking
then we parted our ways
A little while later, I saw you eating outside of the cafe
You folded your hands and bowed to me
Speaking French
It was very sweet, a little unusual
but I liked it
Then later we talked
A few days later, I was out hiking
and I saw you hiking along the same trail
and we walked to the top
and looked out over the city
You talked about your travels all around the world
and you knew the names of every tree
You told me their names
You spoke with the trees and they spoke back to you
I knew you were amazing
I knew you had powers beyond those normally hold by people
and your strength and your power of wisdom affected me
It was not the power of money or worldly power
It was a deep union
of nature and with love itself
and I was glad that I knew you, and laughed and had that time
Thank you
and you knew the names of every tree
you told me their names
you spoke with the trees and they spoke back to you
(x3)
You knew the trees
you called them by name
Ever changing, yet always the same
