Mara is a demon from the Shin Megami Tensei series of Japanese RPGs who takes the form of a large, green phallus with tentacles that often rides around in a golden chariot that has been pimped out with deadly blades. Mara is based on a demon from Buddhist mythology that attempted to seduce Buddha by pretending to be the little girl. Despite Mara's suggestive appearance, he has been spared from the usual treatment due to his appeal among young, women gamers and due to the fact that he is often mistaken for the much more family-friendly LOL WUT pear.

Shin Megami Tensei (真・女神転生, lit. "True Goddess Reincarnation") was an RPG by Atlus for the Super Famicom. The game starts with Stephen Hawking opening a portal to Hell and releasing demons into the world. Later on, Thor ends up nuking the world and the hero then has to choose whether to kick God's arse, Lucifer's arse or everyone's arse. The game is basically just a blatant Pokemon-clone for edgy teenagers – Despite being released years before Pokemon.
